Yu Hyunju is having an amazing round today! And why can't the LPGA website have this kind of coverage? On the KLPGA site you can follow every shot of every player, in near real time.

Min Ji Park holed out from the fairway. Then they did an instant replay and played canned applause when the ball fell in the hole. Just don't tell Golf Channel as they would abuse such technology when the U.S tours restart ... like canned "mashed potatoes", "Daddy's home", "in the hole", etc.
*******
Somebody didn't notice Ga Young Lee's roaring comeback (75-68-143, -1).

What a great Proof-of-Concept this English language YouTube coverage has been. ProTracer on fairway shots, 3D swing replays, correct pronunciation of players names...production values you never see on GC's inferior LPGA coverage.
Now KLPGA/SBS can license their complete English production package to networks around the world for this season and beyond. GC will pass on it, since it will dilute and embarrass their LPGA ratings. But it's a no-brainer for ESPN or FS1. Even easier than ESPN's KBO coverage...just insert your own commercials, Mike Ritz style.
In the meantime, Whan has been "monitoring" this KLPGA event and realized that starting the LPGA season with a rinky dink stunt tournament like the Dow is a huge mistake...so he cancelled it. Learn from the KLPGA...go big or go home.

Learn from the KLPGA...go big or go home. It's been stunning to listen to these commentators get every name spot on. Even ones they could be forgiven for screwing up, like Char Young Kim, they pronounce correctly as Jayoung Kim. Or Hana Jahng for another example. See, Golf Channel, it isn't so hard! (and I'm guessing these are not Korean American commentators, either; have they introduced themselves yet?). Meanwhile, the scoreboard has amazing shot trackers. Man, is that nice to have. If you understand Korean it's even better; for each shot, they list the result. IE, 'Fairway' or 'bunker' or 'fringe' or 'green' or 'hole in' (for the final shot). Plus the distance carried and the distance to the hole. For each player in the field! If the KLPGA puts together a nice marketing package including Hyun Ju Yoo in her day one outfit, the cool teenage stars, Six and the LPGA butt kickers, and Bo Mee just being Bo Mee, I guarantee you they can find some cable outfit over here to rebroadcast. Get Grace Park or Hee Kyung Seo involved in the English language broadcast: even better! Seriously, these sports networks would rather show PGA events from 50 years ago? It's new, it's now, it's K-Popular. And unlike in America, their Instagram golf stars can actually play!

Jeongeun Lee6 hit a lot of quality approach shots. She missed some short birdie putts, made some good par putts.
Again Da Yeon Lee started her round two over. She hung in there even thou her swing was off. She made a double bogey on the sixteenth hole. But birdied her last two holes to make the cut.

Meanwhile, no guarantee that LPGA will play any tournaments this year.

SBS is so proud of their new English language announcers -- Mike Kim & Eddie Bae -- they're introducing them to their Korean viewers.

The real Da Yeon Lee showed up today. Shot minus five to finish minus one for the third round. Maybe enough to make the cut.
Ji Hyun Kim also shot minus five to finish minus two.

Round 3
Hee Jeong Lim has just been on fire the past two days. She looks tough to beat, although I feel like she has to have a weak round in her some time, why not tomorrow? Meanwhile, I'm especially thrilled to see Ji Hyun Oh up there, and Ayean Cho had a nice comeback late in the day. It would take something sensational for either one to win, but I guess I'll be rooting for the miracle to happen.
Sisters hwaiting!
