"My country -- I'm very careful to say what I'm gonna say because we have so many great players out here. If you're not in the Top 10 -- like if you haven't won in a few months -- people just so easily forget...when you're in this position it's so tough. People start not recognizing your name, they don't talk about what you've done. You sort of feel like "am I useless? Am I not really good at what I'm doing?" "And then all of a sudden you're looking at a 19 year-old girl who's a rookie on tour and she's like shooting a 62 or whatever. I'm not gonna lie. Sometimes I feel like maybe I'm useless." I can buy that … NYC said she was called a "loser" when she didn't win in 2013-14.

That was a nice interview by So Yeon. She is always honest about herself. She owns up to her failure and never blames outside ...pause... elements. One thing if she is number one or one hundred, she will always have one fan.

Round 1 This one started with a bang! First, Lee6 appropriately goes 6 under to put herself near the top of the leaderboard. Then, Inbee starts her round and jars her first approach shot of the day. She went from strength to strength after that. Even had a few Inbee-of-old type putts. She eventually got to 7 under before a final hole bogey dropped her to 6 under. The cancelation of those Asian events isn't going to help her Olympic quest, but she's still in there hwaiting!! So Yeon was a bit more up and down, but it was a decent start to her week. Loved seeing Ayean Cho get in there and battle after her terrible finish last week. Got as high as 5 under before settling at 4 under. Hee Jeong Lim's at 3 under, Penguin at 2 under. Rocket was classic Rocket: seemed out of it, then put on the afterburners and made four straight birdies -- rocketing up the leaderboard! I'll call it now: we are going to see her contend in a Major this year. And win one? Man, that would be cool. Sisters hwaiting!!! Here is another super adorable Lee6 clip:

If a Hee Young Park can get back in the winner's circle then so can the once-great Na Yeon Choi. IMO.

Nice finish by The Rocket to get back to even. Yes the four straight birdie finish was great.

So Yeon had to really work hard for her minus two. She made bogey on hole seventeen barely missing her par putt. Then after hitting the par five seventeen in two, three putted made par. However being So Yeon she bounced back with a birdie on eighteen. Which will make her feel better doing the after round meal.
Su Oh has struggling on the back nine until her eagle, par finish. Which should also make her feel better.
Inbee had the best afternoon round by far. Her drive in the pot bunker on eighteen caused her a bogey.
Kudos: To Jeongeun Lee6 and A Yean Cho for bounce back first rounds. After the bad finishes last tournament.
Correction: Hee Jeong Lim finished minus one instead of minus three. Finished the back nine minus three her first nine holes. But had two bogeys on the front nine her back nine.

11 players tied for 6th at -6. Lee6, (at -5), working her magic.
Nelly, Minjee and Lee6 is a fun pairing. Over or under 1 major from this pairing in 2020?

Round 2 Frustrating day for Lucky Six. She didn't play that badly, but nothing seemed quite as sharp today, culminating in a 17th hole where she hit a great drive and still made just par, and a missed two foot par save on 18 to score a 1 over par 74. Still, she is only five back and has two rounds to go. Let's see what she has in store on the weekend! Otherwise, a great day for our faves! Inbee relentlessly moved into a tie for the lead at 10 under. So Yeon had an eagle on 17 en route to a 69; she is four back. Ayean Cho had another good day and is at 8 under. Mi Hyang Lee also is at 6 under. Hye Jin Choi made the cut on the number at even, ten back, and Hee Jeong Lim also made it at 2 under. Look out, Yealimi Noh sneaked into the top ten and is at 6 under too. Sisters hwaiting!!!
