Min Woo drove it 328m (359y) at #14. Forget about his world ranking coming into this one (#227) - the gangsters running the Premier Golf League should sign him up ASAP. *********** The women's side has turned into a huge dumpster fire … everyone is trying to give it away … appears to be boiling down to Ryu, Rocket and Cyborg.

Probably need to add Ayeon to the Rookie of the Year nesting doll set someday. Tough round today.

Having men and women play together is two events for the price of one. No-brainer. And in theory you get the top 60 or so players from both genders.
Hard to believe the Saudi’s didn’t think to include the women in their new world tour proposal.

Round 4 ROCKET POWER! Congratulations to Hee Young Park for her third career win. It seems like a very definite narrative for her: starting with her surprise second at Q-Series, and a really wonderful performance here, she seems to be setting herself up as the comeback player of the year, this season's MJ Hur. Birdied three of the four playoff holes, and didn't let the super close miss for eagle to win get her down. https://www.instagram.com/p/B8V1Lb1A7MV Poor ol' Ayean Cho. This course really seems to do a number on you if you start to get into the weeds. It happened to Lee6 yesterday, and today to Ayean. But a t-16th is still not too bad, and she had three great rounds to remember. We'll be seeing her again this year! Once Ayean was out, I started rooting hard for Hee Young and So Yeon. Hye Jin played great to post 8 under. Looked like Hee Young could go to 9 under, but her bogey on 17 put her behind the eight ball. Meanwhile, So Yeon birdied that one and went to 18 just needing a birdie to win. Alas, she couldn't get it done, and we wound up with a three way playoff. Hye Jin's fourth hole was pretty much of a nightmare. My tivo ran out before it was done, but by then I had seen her leave her drive behind a pine cone, hit her second about five feet, then hit her third into an unplayable lie. Pretty much handed it to Hee Young, but considering she was 7 shots back to start the day, a t-2nd is not bad at all. She too had an eagle chance on the 2nd playoff hole that she just missed. As for So Yeon, I hope she takes a lot of positives away from this one. She made two birdies on the two playoff holes and had a great chance to win in regulation before her bad drive on 18. Looking forward to great stuff from her again soon! Congrats again to Hee Young Park. Is she the oldest Korean to ever win? I know Mi Hyun Kim and Eun Hee Ji were both 32 when they claimed their last wins, and HYP is also 32, so... maybe? Anyways, great job, so thrilled for her. Sisters Hwaiting!!

I watched So Yeon quite a bit this week and she is playing fantastic golf. The tee shot on 14 where she drove left into the unplayable lie (and made double) is really tricky because the tee is too far forward and the angle is terrible. More importantly she announced after she lost the playoff she was donating half of her prize money to the Australian bushfire appeal. She is one of the most popular players to come down and play here - Korea should be very proud of her. Royal Adelaide will suit her well this coming week too. It's one of the best ten courses in the country and you really have to play well to win.

The back and forth between the men & women was a momentum killer for me, so I picked up coverage with my FF button this morning. Love how YouTube TV's cloud DVR magically extends live sporting events on the fly.
Who's the next player to rejuvenate her career by getting married?

Congratulation to Hee Young Park for the playoff win. However after So Yeon was eliminated I wanted Hye Jin Choi to win. With a win Hye Jin wouldn't have to go to the Q-Series. If she plans to join the LPGA next year.
With So Yeon birdies on sixteen and seventeen to tie the lead. Looked like she had a great chance to win with a birdie on eighteen. But she drove a three wood into the hazard which changed that. She did make a great par to get into the play off. Not sure why she chose three wood instead of driver on eighteen. But she knows why and that is all that matters. All in all a great first tournament for her.
Young A Yean Cho had a tough round, but she will be fine. I'm not to crazy about those PXG clubs from hell she plays with.

I had given up on Hee Young Park, I thought her career was about to ride off into the matrimonial sunset. Glad to see these players near 30 (Ji, Hur, IK Kim) rewriting the rules of LPGA success. As long as there is no burnout, 30-something is a prime age for golf.

Hye Jin Choi or Ayean Cho winning would have been a very interesting storyline. The KLPGA season is still a couple of months away from really getting going. Would either of them taken the card for THIS year and left the KLPGA? Probably not Cho, but I could have imagined Choi doing it. And if she did, does she make a run at the Olympic team?
That didn't happen, but I imagine we will be seeing Choi in contention again this year. Stay tuned!
By the way, soon we can add So Yeon to that list of 30 something players. Her 30th birthday is in June. Man, time flies, I still remember her as a 16 year old winning the Asian Games gold medal.

Not sure if you were referring to me ... it was this site's former Van City correspondent that probably danced a jig on Sunday AM and overturned his own car after HYP's win.
But, I wanted the Rocket to win that playoff, too. I've seen her in person going back to the 2009 USWO (or maybe earlier) ... vivacious and charismatic. From Tuesday's practice round at the 2017 ShopRite/Acer:
A Korean foursome assembled at the first tee, Hee Young Park, Eun Hee Ji, Jennifer Song, and S.H. Park, but they went out in pairs...HY Park and Ji would go first. After Park teed off, Sandra Gal showed up, so The Rocket ran over and gave her a big hug. Then they began a two-minute in-close gossip session...I couldn’t hear what it was about, but at the end Sandra said, “wow, you have a lot going on with you these days.” In high spirits, Park ran down the fairway with her driver...after about 100 yards, she passed Ji and the caddies and kept running all the way to her ball.
