...aka The Return of Shin Ae Ahn. I assume this will be thoroughly documented while I’m on the road. If that’s not enough, the field of 144 also includes Ha Neul Kim...I don’t know if this is a pit stop from Japan or a permanent move. The action starts Friday at Phoenix Springs CC, about 50 km SE of Seoul. SBS Golf will broadcast the usual five hours per round at Noon local time. Sharon’s Twitter and Instagram appear to be shut down ...that will leave more time to practice.

Phil What no wireless internet at your flea bag motel this week?
If Sky performs this week...she might stay in S. Korea.

Of course, there is no evidence that Ha Neul Kim is contemplating returning to Korea full time, that is total speculation on your parts. Ha Neul has had stretches of bad play before in her career, so let's give her a chance to iron out the kinks before we decide her latest experiment is a failure! Last year, Ha Neul and Yoon Kyung Heo duked it out in this event, with Heo pipping Kim thanks to a great par save near the end. No doubt Ha Neul has fond memories of this particular event, even if it was one of her five runner-up finishes of the season and not the win she was hoping for. Go Ha Neul!! It will be great to see her again!

E1 is an "eco-friendly" energy company. mr3putt: I am old school...carrying a "dumb" cell phone and have only a desktop PC at home. It's pen and paper that gets molded into a WORD document later. As for the motel, I've never been there before, but I expect it to be higher quality than last year's digs.

Speaking of old school, I'll start packing my jumbo-sized 1987 Samsonite hard shell in a few minutes before going to bed.
A translated article on Sharon's return seemed to suggest that she's in trouble for keeping her card in 2016, because you have to be in the top-60 on the money list at year-end. Doesn't having two career wins mean anything? I don't know if they have medical waivers like on the LPGA tour. Of course, if she wins this year then she has no problems for next season.

I'm also Old Skool too....although it's now in a box...a few years ago....I went to the store to buy some blank VHS tapes....the guy in the check-out line behind me had a....WTF...really???....look on his face.

For selfish reasons......we should start a petition to Whan for a lifetime LPGA membership for Sharon. But don't hold your breathe....I was unsuccessful for a membership for Courtney Harter...who I randomly saw in 2012 at a Cdn tour event.

I read an article this morning that said that this will be In Gee Chun's *11th* straight tournament! And that she is planning on playing next week as well. That's just crazy iron lady stuff! She started with three straight events on the LPGA: the Founders, Kia and ANA. She returned to Korea for the season opener, then won the Samchully the next week. The next week she played one round, then dropped out (so it's kind of cheating, but she still did play!). She finished second the following week to Min Sun Kim, then went to Japan and won the Salonpas Cup, her 8th event. She came back to Korea, notched another top ten, then played 6 rounds to win the Match Play, her 10th event. 10 straight weeks on three tours with three wins. I got tired just typing all that!

Here is the promo for this week, featuring Ha Neul!
Here is a 7 minute highlight reel (in Korean, but you can follow along easily without sound) of the final round battle last year between Ha Neul Kim and Yoon Kyung Heo. Heo wound up with the trophy.

Round 1: Cinderella Shi Hyun Ahn Takes Two Shot Lead
Shi Hyun Ahn shot a fantastic 6 under par 66 that included a hole-in-one, five birdies and a bogey. A whole gaggle of players are at 4 under par, including Ha Neul Kim in her first KLPGA event of the year. Among others at 4 under are Min Young Lee, Seon Woo Bae, Song Yi Ahn (pictured) and Jung Eun Lee 5. In Gee Chun did not have a great day, but she finished strong with birdies on her final two holes. She had a double and a bogey which set her back somewhat, but still shot a 71. Shin Ae Ahn, in her first action in a while, shot a 77. Two more rounds! Scores: 1. Shi Hyun Ahn 66 -6 2. Hee Won Jung, Song Yi Ahn, Ji Hyun Kim 2, Ha Neul Kim, Min Young Lee, Jung Eun Lee 5 68 -4 Notables: 10. Chae Young Yoon, Min Sun Kim 5 69 -3 15. Gyeol Park (R), Je Yoon Yang 70 -2 22. Apparently In Gee is sick again (I saw a funny clip where they showed several shots of her coughing during the first round). The article I read says she has body aches and other cold symptoms. All these weeks of golf are probably not good for her health, but hopefully she'll stick it out this week at least, then GET SOME REST!!!

Round 2: Hee Won Jung Leads
Hee Won Jung shot a 67 in round 2 to capture the lead by a shot. Seon Woo Bae shot a 68 and is in second. Ha Neul Kim and Shi Hyun Ahn were both at 7 under, but both made final hole bogies to fall to 6 under. Still very much in it! Good week so far for Gyeol Park, five back at 4 under and in the top ten. In Gee Chun shot a second straight 71 and is eight back. One more round to go! Scores: 1. Hee Won Jung 67 -9 2. Seon Woo Bae 68 -8 3. Hye Rim Kim 67, Ji Hyun Kim 2 69 -7 5.
