Yui, an LPGA star in the making?
Shibuno
UPDATE: The road map was just announced:
Per Google mush, she'll be a full-time LPGAer in 2021, even if it means playing the Q-series ... is eligible to play in 12 LPGA events in 2020 ... will set up residence in USA, time and place TBD. Per coach Sho Aoki, the goal is to win another major within three years and the Grand Slam within ten.

Solar eclipses the field by two shots! Maybe she'll finally get some attention if she holds on tomorrow. Are you watching Q-Cells? At least HappyFan should take note.

Who would have thought Solar Lee of all people would generate so much fan enthusiasm? Talk about a deep cut! That's like everyone's favorite Beatles song suddenly being Rocky Raccoon. Seriously, though, good luck to her. Always pulling for the hard working journeyman Sisters!

The locals remember and appreciate Buhai's spontaneous "Banzai" fist pump when Shibuno holed her winning putt at Woburn.
Rei Matsuda (tied for 1st at -2 thru four holes) and HoJo

Talk about a coming-out party for the world - Rei Matsuda went -6 on the front nine, including an ace at #9 (185 yards) .... then she went wobbly with bogeys at #s 10, 12 & 13... tied for the lead. This is an elegant and powerful player, a cut-rate Grace Park, but needs additional polishing. She's 3rd on the JLPGA in driving distance (Shibuno is 14th) ... I'd like to see her grouped with top-ranked LPGAers on the weekend to see how she compares (sorry, Olson and Larsen, that's not you).

That fellow "journalist in his pajamas" who maintains the Korean Golf News IG account (and get a few of his cues from this forum, no doubt) posted three items so far on the JLPGA Pro Test: all of them for Shin Ae Ahn and nothing for Solar Lee. Well, here is some info that he can lift might be useful to him:
Stage One of JLPGA q-school is Nov. 26-29.
RANK PLAYER SCORE 1R 2R 3R 4R TOTAL 1 Solar Lee -9 69 71 67 72 279 2T Akira Yamaji -8 72 72 70 66 280 (6th on JLPGA in driving distance) 2T Yuna Nishimura -8 72 70 71 67 280 4T Yuka Yasuda -5 70 69 71 73 283 4T Yiyi Liu -5 69 70 70 74 283 6T Miyu Yamashita -4 71 72 71 70 284 6T Rieru Shibusawa -4 70 70 71 73 284 8T Yuting Seki -3 69 76 69 71 285 8T Erina Nakanishi -3 70 74 68 73 285 8T Princess Superal -3 68 73 70 74 285 8T Rena Ishikawa -3 73 65 71 76 285 12T Yuri Yoshida -2 71 71 72 72 286 12T Seungji Han -2 73 71 69 73 286 12T Fumie Jo -2 71 69 71 75 286 15T Shin-Ae Ahn -1 70 68 77 72 287 15T Anna Kono -1 73 72 69 73 287 17 Mizuki Tanaka 0 75 71 71 71 288 18T Mao Saigo +1 71 73 74 71 289 18T Yuka Saso +1 74 72 70 73 289 (phew, she still has a chance to skip study hall at U of GA) 18T Naruha Miyata +1 72 71 72 74 289 18T Rio Ishii +1 70 70 71 78 289
----CUT------ 25T Simin Feng +3 72 73 73 73 291 27T Chika Sawada +4 69 74 74 75 292 (did she wear pink in honor of PC on Friday? ) 31T Nook Sukapan +5 74 70 73 76 293 37T P Chutichai +6 72 73 73 76 294 37T Natsuki Hatano +6 71 68 76 79 294 (horrid finish, what happened? Too bad, she is a character) 61T Supamas Sangchan +10 75 72 73 78 298 61T Babe Liu +10 72 72 77 77 298 (Dr. Won Park still needs someone to sweep up balls at his winter camp range)
Momoka Miura dropped out before the round started, due to "poor physical condition", and plans to check herself into a hospital.
Leader of the pack
Seungji Han and Solar
Yuka Yasuda and Ting Ting
Why is Rieru Shibusawa holding a ¥10,000 note? (approx. $91 USD) Was there a purse? I assume that is a brand spelled out on her, but I'm drawing a blank.
Yonex is still in the game with Rio Ishii
Woo hoo, Scottish links with palm trees

Well, here is some info that he can lift might be useful to him I think it's this guy. I'm a uni lecturer, golf journalist and p/t caddie. I set up that Korean Golf News site a few months ago and it keeps me very busy... I will attend KLPGA every 2nd week as I write for KPGA so must attend their events too. But next week's KLPGA event is sponsored by KFC so not missing that one... I'll say hello to Dean and Shane from this site... Live in Daejeon so close to everywhere. Yes, Korean golf attire is ridiculous and expensive. And yes the ranges are always packed... In keeping with the grade school theme of the Pro Test, I like how the end results on the JLPGA website are listed under "Final Grade." Solar seems energized by the win. Go Solar Power!
