Gotta love the way Shibuno quickly sets up her shots, makes a decision and commits. Even when her caddy offers a rare comment, she just gives a nod without even looking up at him.
Seeing her smiling and waiting at every tee box for the slo-pokes in front of her to clear the fairway or green, I'm beginning to think she'd be too frustrated doing that every week on the LPGA Tour.

Whenever they show her setting up to the ball from behind the target line, she reminds me of Keegan Bradley … except that she doesn't twirl the blade behind the ball and their swings are completely different. I, too, have wondered what two or three years of constant exposure to the LPGA Tour turtles and frumps would do to her. Interesting article below if you Google mush it … she is a Japanese Dumbo - an alert observer who goes to her coach Sho Aoki with ideas on improving her game. www.nikkansports.com/sports/golf/news/201910310000926.html

The new math early Friday AM: Birdie + Birdie + Birdie = SIX MHL tied with The New Ko, huh?! From Thursday … never saw an MU Sports umbrella before … who knows, they might be related to Pei Ying Tsai.

It's fun to see a veteran player like Mi Jung Hur approach her best season.

Round 2 A bit better than round 1, but still some puzzlers. Like Jin Young Ko -- what is up with her? This makes for the fourth weak round in a row. It's been her putting costing her until now, but today she only hit half her greens. I'm betting this is her worst GIR performance all year. Maybe she started coasting a bit once she clinched the POY? It's hard not to let down a little after achieving something so massive. Anyways, I hope she can rally, I still believe she can break 69 scoring average, but now she's going to have to work at it. In better news, Six kicked some butt with her favorite score, a 66. She still didn't gain a stroke, because MJ Hur shot her own 66, but at least Lucky Six is now in one of the last groups on Saturday. There is a nice logjam around her including So Yeon, Jenny Shin and Amy Yang. Just close enough to make it interesting, but not really in the hunt YET. Fingers crossed. In Gee was doing OK until going 3 over in three holes late. Oh well. My favorite person on the leaderboard is INKY! Where did that 65 come from? This has been a down year for her, but if she somehow wins this, man oh man! Would love to see that. If not her, Hyo Joo, who has had a great year, but yet no wins. I like MJ, too, and if she wins, YAY! But it isn't as urgent for her; she won just a month ago. Sisters hwaiting!

As usual Jeongeun Lee6 followed a not so good round with a great round. It would be great if she keep that going.
I think Jin Young Ko is just mentally tired. She has been doing a lot lately, on and off the golf course. She should maintain her lead in all the categories. So not a lot to worry about.
Another two under for So Yeon is pretty good, baby steps. The good news is that she got four birdies on the back nine. Good front nine day one not so good back nine. Not so good front nine day two, with good back nine. Hopefully day three that she puts those good nines together.

Round 3 Whoa, Jin Young Ko withdrew. I wonder if she has been struggling with sickness or injury? She was having another terrible round today when she called it a week, making that five straight weak rounds for her; that's practically unheard of for her. According to the broadcast, she needed to go 2 under over her final six rounds in order to clinch the lowest scoring average in Korean history, breaking Sung Hyun Park's mark. With two rounds scrubbed, I'm guessing she just needs an adequate performance at CME. Sub-69 is still probably doable, but that will take a lot better score in Florida. Most of the Sisters are probably too far back, and at this point I'm not sure if I'll work to stay unspoiled on Sunday. Lee 6 was so so again, falling to t-18th. MJ and Inky still have an outside chance, and so do Sei Young and Hyo Joo if Korda cools off and has her overdue slow round. Minjee and Su Oh, too. It's actually a pretty good Sister leaderboard, but Nelly holds the cards right now. Can So Yeon have a good final round and notch a top ten? She sure could use it. In Gee shot a 70, but is in her usual middle of the pack position. So much for a bump from Korea I guess. Sister hwaiting!!!

This is the dawning of the age of nelly korda. The most impressive prospect to ever fly under the GIC radar.
I’m not sure the typical “Lexi Fan” is up for this.

So Yeon just can't seem to put two good nines together. She had it to minus seven through thirteen holes. Even with a double bogey on hole five. But a three bogey and one birdie finish dropped her to minus five. The birdie on eighteen gave her a third under par round. Not great, but a lot better than over par.
Jeongeun Lee6 also got to minus seven after eight holes. But she finished with two bogeys and no birdies.
I really think that Jin Young Ko is just worn out. I believe it's a learning experience for her. That after a long pressurized golf season. You can't fit in all those other none golf things and stay focused. Or it just could be something else, I am just guessing.

One would hardly know the LPGA is playing this week from Golf Channel’s Twitter feed, let alone that the young American star has defended her championship.
A quick scroll through their tweet action shows about 5% of their tweeting is about the LPGA. If that.
I’m kind of surprised nobody ever does an accounting of what different golf media members post about. It would be an interesting chart.
