They bumped up the purse to ¥200 M for this four-rounder. No dire traffic/parking warnings have been posted on the JLPGA website - for now. Would the attendance being impacted greatly by the PGA Tour's Zozo Championship 600 km away? With diminished daylight, the field is only 108.
Sunday's broadcast will be here at 3:30 PM (Japan time) -

Hinako Shibuno arrived on site Tuesday and is looking at a peacock donated by Tiger Woods to Masters GC .... is there significance to this gesture?

Ayaka Furue visited Masters GC and showed off her application for JLPGA membership, which should be approved so she can play as a pro next week.

There is only one 2-hour broadcast for Round One which was running LIVE until it died, but another one is taking its place ... Ayako Okamoto is doing the color.
Sky Kim is tied for 1st at -3 thru nine holes.

Solar is +1 thru 11 holes ... the cut line is Even, but it's quite early. Avoiding a trunk slam will be a major accomplishment as this field is much tougher than last week's.
My pipe dream: A clean energy company in South Jersey gives her a sponsor invite to the 2020 ShopRite/Acer.

I didn't want to mention Ha Neul score the first round. Because I may jinx her, but it didn't matter she shot three over anyway. Ok, maybe a good third round.
The final Step-Up tour shortened tournament, Kotone Hori +11 missed the cut. What to do, what to do next to get back to the big Tour for her.

Just watched the twenty seven minutes 2R highlights on YouTube. I actually recognized most of the golfers. Like Jiyai, B0-Mee, Chae Yoon, Ha Neul, Shiho and of course Hinako Shibuno highlights. Usually when I watch the JLPGA I hardly recognize most of them.

I'll set the alarm for the Sunday broadcast, but I don't expect any changes from below ... Teresa Lu hasn't won since getting four wins in 2017 and is probably in KILL mode.
BTW, Sharon missed the cut by one stroke for the 400th time.

Reverse karma strikes again ... Lu didn't have it on Sunday. Shin closed the gap slightly on Shibuno for POY points and will probably take back the lead next week.
In a bizarre side note, Kobayashi issued an apology to the golf course and tournament organizers for a player (unknown so far) who flipped out when she was informed that bath towels would not be supplied in the locker room (towels were taken home in the past).

When Bo-Mee took a one shot lead with three straight birdies to start the back nine. I thought that she had a good chance for the win. But she did not make another birdie. Asuka birdied fifteen and seventeen for the win. Still a much needed great tournament for Bo-Mee.
