In other news, the first of three locations kicked off Stage Two of the JLPGA Pro Test. The expected names are near the top for this four-round event. I never heard of Jae Eul Lee ... age 24, played the KLPGA Jump Tour this year, and not particularly well. It looks like her first year as a pro, which is pretty late for a Korean or anyone else these days.

I really don't remember anything about Chie Arimura time on the LPGA.
Another note Kotone Hori missed the cut on the Step-Up tour. Hang in there lady, hang in there.

I really don't remember anything about Chie Arimura time on the LPGA.
I remember her on the range at Sebonack for the 2013 USWO on Friday hitting wedges.

Per Google mush, this appears to be the new rubber stamp warning on the JLPGA website when you-know-who is in town:
[To all visitors to the Miyagi TV Cup Dunlop Women's Open Golf Tournament]
Currently, many of the tournament advance tickets are purchased. As a result, there may be restrictions on the number of tickets sold on the day, so please be forewarned. It is highly recommended that you use public transportation because the gallery parking lot and gallery bus operation are expected to be very crowded and congested.

Kotono Kozuma on Thursday...she is a Dunlop hostess pro. After picking up her first win late last year, she is having a dreadful 2019, plus she hurt her right shoulder last week. She didn't qualify for next week's JWO, but will play in Korea instead at the Hana Financial Group Championship (the New Ko and the Old Ko will also play there).

I spent the morning watching Round One at home. The pic below describes 90% of the broadcast: Shibuno & NASA ... with defending champ Ohe bringing up the rear as an afterthought. NASA's looper in front is Greg Johnston. If there was a Rolex Ranking only for chipping and short pitches, Shibuno would be #1 in the world. The only part of her game that puzzles me is her driving. She's "only" 14th in distance on the JLPGA, which would put her behind a ton of players on LPGA ... considering her size and athleticism, I would have expected better. Of course, distance isn't everything, just ask AVD and Fassi. The broadcast showed Ohe (+4) miss a 3-foot par saver at #15 ... she's still using a sawed-off broomstick ... and continues to have the first lousy season of her career.
NASA is seriously good and her Rolex ranking is an accurate reflection of that, but even she could not save par out of this brutal bunker lie at #3.

In other news, Bo Mee Lee will be officially OFF the market on Dec. 27.
Per Google mush, she will marry actor Lee Wan, who doesn't look or sound familiar, but I haven't watched K-dramas in ages. His sister is a big star, Kim Tae Hee. Her filmography lists 'Love Story in Harvard' (2004) which I recall watching ... I think a school in Southern Calif. was used for the exterior scenes (the Boston area never looked so warm).

I have to chuckle at these "warnings" about walk-up spectators maybe being turned away at the gate. This is hype to get MORE people to show up! NO WAY would they turn anyone away ... THAT would be a scandal. Shibuno Fever is the best thing to hit this tour since the country went ape s*** over Ai Miyazato 15 years ago. Hinako will play the JWO next week and the Stanley Ladies after that. A Chinese article from a few weeks ago said she would play the Buick LPGA, but that might have been premature...the official tournament website doesn't mention her.
*********
I think the video below is set up for Round Two's 1st hole coverage starting Friday at 6:30 PM EST. Shibuno is in the first group going off at #10 at 6:20 PM EST with her best friend Momoko Osato and clothes horse Reika Usui. I'm surprised the TV people couldn't pull some strings and get Shibuno switched to the 1st tee for some other player who also shot 74. Well, maybe they'll set up a temporary camera at #10.
Notable 1st hole times (EST):
Solar Lee 6:40 PM Sharon 7:00 PM Sakura Koiwai 7:10 PM MY Lee 7:40 PM
Karis D. 8:00 PM Kotono Kozuma 8:40 PM NASA 8:50 PM
SW Bae 9:10 PM

Since Kim Tae Hee is his sister, then that would make singer/actor Rain (Jung Ji Hoon) his brother-in-law. It would certainly make sense for a series set at Harvard to be filmed elsewhere since the university almost NEVER gives permission for shooting on campus. They only allowed some scenes for "Good Will Hunting" to be shot there thanks to the intervention of Harvard alum John Lithgow. Lee Wan, whose real name is Kim Hyung Soo, hasn't appeared in anything since episodes 274-282 of the SBS reality series Law of the Jungle in 2017.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lee_WanKevin
