The U. of Minnesota is the host team and they finished dead last after Day One of the team competition. I can't think of any ex-Golden Gopher pros on the LPGA tour. Tuesday will be Day Two of the team scoring. I'm guessing Day Three is a free-for-all of individual golfers. Regarding the team event, only five players for each of the twelve schools are participating...notable absentees include Hannah O. & Megan Furtney (Duke), and one of the Hou sisters (U. of Arizona).
There's a lot of talent at this one and I assume Annika will be there at the trophy ceremony on Wednesday, right? You'd think the Golf Channel might be interested in covering this...and you'd be wrong. Don't worry, instead you can watch 'Tin Cup' for the 400th and 401st time Tuesday night.
BTW, I had no idea that Michele Redman was the HC at Minnesota ... was hired in 2011. The team website also says she gives private individual lessons at $100/hr. She needs to give her players freebies and lots of them. When she played the LPGA tour, she had one of the least impressive swings I've ever seen, but somehow made a lot of money from it. I checked The Archives and yes, I did see her just before she quit the tour ... from the 2010 Sybase Match Play:
Saw Michele Redman fiddling with a persimmon(!) 3-wood on the range, but it was just a training device. She put it on the ground for alignment. Most players use fiberglass sticks, but I assume this relic has sentimental value.
This was the first day of matches and she lost to Amy Yang.

Royal Golf Club is new. It has 9 holes designed by each Annika and Palmer.

USC Trojan minus nine today. But could only pick up three on Wake Forest.

It appears that the third day will also be team competition...no one playing as an individual.
Ana Belac (Duke) 72-72, E, T-19.

Annika is there and explains the origins of this tournament in the video above.
********
WFU doesn't miss Kupcho when freshman Rachel Kuehn begins her college career shooting 67-67...plus, she was not in the line up last week when WFU played in South Carolina and they still finished 2nd.
********
Kaitlyn Papp (Junior, U of Texas) is currently T-2 at -7. She might be a serious pro one day, averaged 72.05 and 72.36 in her first two seasons. BTW, ex-LPGAer Kate Golden is the asst. coach at UT.

Congratulation to Freshman Rachel Kuehn for the Individual Title. Also lead her team to an overwhelming Title. She is following in her mom Brinda, footsteps. Her mon won five times and is in the Wake Forest, Hall Of Fame.

By the way where were all the people who wanted to build the women game. They missed a great performance by that young golfer.
I know, they only care about that hyped up tournament, not ladies' golfers.
