The video has resumed after the one-hour break, but I'm going to bed now...I'll get up around 5 AM for the Solheim Cup.
They are interviewing Maria Shinohara, who had probably a career round on Friday (76-65-141, -3). They are in a "satellite" studio and a fan was able to ask her a question using a microphone outside the booth. Exit Shinohara and enter Momoko Ueda, who also finished at -3 overall.
Solar Lee during Round One...nice comeback (74-69), she will play the weekend.

Hinako Shibuno finished at plus one which is inside the cut line. Kotone Hori shot even par today. However the +4 she shot yesterday put her below the cut line. She is never way out of it, just need to score two or three strokes lower.

Go Solar! Terry & Judy need to work out of one of those weird glass-enclosed on-course "Satellite Studios." It would liven up the proceedings. The entourage following Shibuno as she made her way into the hut would rival Beyonce. I don't know what those fans with the mics are asking on the other side of the glass, but from the reactions and laughs they must be pretty out-of-the-box questions.

Solar Lee is grouped with Bo Mee Lee and Eimi Koga at 10:20am JST.
Finally Shibuno is ready to tee off on #1...I feel like I've watched her entire round already with all the driving range practice (including slo-mo replay) they covered.

The stream is reporting ball speed and apex stats for the 1st hole tee shots. Among the early starters, SW Bae had the highest ball speed at 63 m/s...that's 140.9 MPH in real numbers. If her driver smash factor was 1.5, then her club speed was 94.0 MPH (maybe it is higher in reality as she is no shrimp). The minimum ball speed among these players seems to be 60 m/s (134.2 MPH & 89.5 MPH). BTW, not everyone is using driver on this hole.
Talk about influence...there is a covered VIP "dugout" under the left grandstands at #1...Kobayashi has been there since the start, but it was mostly empty...then a whole bunch of people showed up to fill those seats...yep, Shibuno is teeing off next.

Apparently Shibuno reads the comments here on SS. She missed her birdie putt on 1 but only overshot the hole by a foot. Easy par.

Too much booth time, not enough golf. I guess it's better than nothing, but I can't take it.
Hinako just putted her lag putt ten feet past the hole, three putt. She had six birdies and maybe four bogeys and one other. I wonder how many of those bogeys were three putts.

I was really hoping that Ha Neul and Bo-Mee would score a little lower. Hopefully they will do better today, to get closer to top ten. Bo-Mee really needs to play better, Rolex Ranking 229, Ha Neul 170.

Shibuno's teeing off now. She has Pikachu headcovers on her bag. Lame.
Solar got some TV time on the putting green ahead of her 8:50am JST tee-off. She's two shots ahead of Shibuno heading into today.

Solar hooked her tee shot badly to the left on the first hole. The gallery moaned. The camera didn't even attempt to locate where it landed. She took a provisional.

I've been out and haven't been watching the stream or looked at the scoreboard...I think I'll take a quick nap and get up for the regular broadcast at 12:55 AM EST.
I assume this is Solar Lee's bad tee ball at #1 ... she is grouped with Eimi Koga (right) and Saki Nagamine.
