More than just a Major, this is the JLPGA showcase to the world. It wouldn't surprise me if they announce the players at the 1st and 10th holes in English. The event website has two languages:
The field of 132 will include NASA and the SS Feng...the cut is top-60 plus ties. They're playing at Cherry Hills GC about 10 miles NW Kobe...only 6425 yards, but water is in play on the last two holes:
They'll have Internet streaming all four rounds starting at 8 AM (Japan time)...no link has been posted, but I assume it will be at the event website.
The regular broadcast for the weekend (Japan time):
Sat. 3 PM
Sun. 1:55 PM

Inbee Park is in the field, is't a typo?
Haven't seen her in any tournaments for a while.

Yes, I forgot to include Winbee for this field.
Since the Pro Test started much later than in past years, will they still have wannabe rookies manning the scoreboards and carrying standard bearer signs?

Monday practice:
Solar Lee (right)...don't know the other one. The 10th is downhill with a bunker right of the green and water on the left...how many will go for it in one?
Memory Lane
Ayako Uehara and NASA
Back to the drawing board for Smile Candy
September is a month for product releases and I assume several players are testing new toys
Hana Wakimoto and Eimi Koga
Ai Suzuki and ?
Hinako Shibuno w/ coach Sho Aoki...business must be good these days:

This is where Sharon's long-time coach Richard Woodhouse needs to earn his keep...no more missing the cut by one shot!
In other news, the Japan Golf Association posted a preliminary field of 105 players this week for the Japan Women's Open (Oct. 3-6), which includes defending champ SY Ryu and NASA. The normal field amount is 120, so maybe some other LPGAers are being considered...the Texas VOA is the same week. The list includes 17 amateurs, but NOT Yuka Yasuda, which is insane. I assume her name will be added later...what more does she have to do this year?!

Shibuno's price tag for anything is NOT going down in the near future...Google mush from the JLPGA home page:
Advance tickets for this tournament are no longer sold. We are planning to sell tickets for the day, but if it is determined that the safety of the gallery cannot be secured due to the situation within the course, the sale of tickets on the day may be restricted. In that case, we will guide you on this website and on the “Real-time Access Guide”.
I read that 48,000 advance tix were sold out before the AIG WBO @ ¥8,640 per ticket...that's approx. $3.862 million USD. Thursday and Friday grounds passes are ¥2,500 per day (about $23.28 USD) ... that's pretty reasonable for this field; I paid $40 for walk-up pass to Round Two of the 2009 USWO. Saturday and Sunday will be ¥4,000 per day (about $37.24 USD). So, if they get 5,000 walk-ups per day, that would be another $600K USD in the kitty.

The par-5 18th is 525 yards...this doesn't look like a 3rd shot wedge by Shibuno.
Miyuki Takeuchi and JY Shin/Winbee

In the 5th and final "heat" of Stage One Pro Test, Dr. Won Park disciple Babe Liu shot a mediocre 75 (+3) in round one. Stop the presses: Simin Feng opened with a 73 (+1). Japan is a good move for her if she can get all the way through. She also has a new IG handle (last update was August 7):
