Since all we hear about is how many rookies are playing someone in the gic could figure out if it’s ever actually mattered.
Saying rookies struggle is really just a way to hype the event.

I guess that's why Captain for Life made such a big announcement of McDonald as a 1st alternate ... she had a strong inkling that she would be needed for real. Definitely a positive mulligan for Team USA ... picking Lewis in the first place was a dumb call from every possible angle.
Yeah, I read 'Ol Randall's "first" article saying Pressel would be in Lexi's pod. Now we know that Altomare has replaced MP in that pod. CFL is right there with the players ... maybe she has concluded that Lexi is no longer a big baby that needs hand holding.

I cannot find a live scoreboard anywhere for the Ping Junior Solheim Cup.

Thanks for the scoreboard link. USA and Europe tied 3.0-3.0, even though Li and Pano got killed in their respective morning foursome matches.

Amalie Leth-Nissen, who was in the European pair who beat Campos & Navarossa 4&3 in the afternoon four balls, is only 14 years old (one month younger than Pano) https://www.instagram.com/p/B1O9P5JFJTi

AVD has a chance to be a great Solheim villain for the US.

We don't meet people by accident. They are meant to cross our path for a reason.

My two cents about Inkster choosing Morgan Pressel and Stacy Lewis to complete the US team. I can understand her logic of wanting experience to lead and I believe Morgan fits that bill. But not Stacy because she has a lone-wolf personality. I can't see her inspiring her teammates on. Player input had something to do with it according to JI I believe. It would have been interesting deliberations. I wonder how Lexi feels about losing a doubles partner. Did she get out-voted or not??? So Lewis travels to Ireland. Takes pictures with the team, doesn't do any promo videos but announces on the 10th that she decided for her health and the team to not play. I call B.S. She should NEVER have traveled nor had been picked & Inkster used "experience" as the reason for her pick. Terrible Solheim Record, 0-3 in Singles Matches. Either Olson or even Kerr should have been picked before Lewis and Pressel. Morgan is a fighter and will play her heart out but am very disappointed. Remember it was Kerr who help Wie and then Thompson gain confidence in the team matches, not Lewis.

I hear all that but I have to defer to the players on how they want to handle stars who miss on points due to maternity leave. Olson had a great chance to qualify on points.

To say that Olson or Kerr should have been picked before Pressel doesn’t reflect the reason to have captain’s picks: to be able to pick someone who has played well recently and someone with experience (if captain and team think that’s valuable). Cristie Kerr hasn’t had a top 10 since May and Amy Olson has had one. Morgan has 4 top tens since end of April (and a good Solheim record). Kerr and Lexi had a great run as partners, but they didn’t finish well in their latest event- the Dow in July. Ally McDonald certainly had results to be next player up- rankings, points, top tens.

I think Julie ended up with the right team. MP has been playing better lately and she brings a lot.
McDonald was quite a bit ahead of Amy Olson on the Solheim points lists, even though Amy was a few spots ahead of her on the Rolex Rankings.

She helped Stacy gain exemptions to many top 2020 tournaments; and she's Ally McDonald who's bee playing well all season.

A great example of what vets bring to Solheim from Sirak. “The veterans have been very good about laying out the plans in terms of where to be and what to wear,” said Khang. “So we don’t have to think. We just read their texts and do it.” www.lpga.com/news/2019-rookies-at-solheim-cup-a-look-back
