With Hinako Shibuno skipping this one, a nation of golf maniacs gets a week off to recharge their batteries. Momoko Osato will defend her title starting Friday. Streaming for final round:

Early Thursday AM prep:
Momoko Osato and Erika Kikuchi
Ji Hee Lee and Erina Hara
********
Defending champ Osato next to 1st prize on Wednesday. She admitted to having the yips at the start of the year (six straight trunk slams in March & April), but changed to the claw grip and all is well again.

The Daikure Ladies Cup is only the second of two two-round events on the Step Up tour. There is no cut, but only the top-50 plus ties get paid...wish I had a live stream for this one and there's nothing set up on YouTube.
Miyuki Takeuchi just went into the lead at -9 ... leads by three strokes with four holes remaining ... no career JLPGA wins at any level.
Pei Ying Tsai has fallen to +1 with one hole remaining...recently said she got rid of her two little braids after five years as a concession to advancing age...say what, she's only 28.
Kotone Hori has moved up to +1 with four holes remaining...needs to pick up one more stroke to cover her caddie fee this week.

Yes,there is only three people at even par left, So it's up to Kotone to get there. Princess Superal is hanging in there at two over for the day so far. Hope she can hang in there and get a decent check.

Miyuki blew it and so did Kotone.
Second career Step Up tour win for Kaori Makitani...can she get off this tour at age 31?
Princess Mary Superal (let's NOT call her by her initials) gagged with a 75, but went home with ¥168,500.

The top players are just one or two strokes off. So there will likely be a big change second round.

The usual field size is 108 for this tour, but it looks like they had no more than 97 on Friday.
BML during Round One...she is T-4 in Round Two after nine holes.

Solar does seem to have a new clothing sponsor, some company named TOM. Unless she gets her solar power in gear soon, her new duds will only be displayed back on the CLPGA next year.

Solar does seem to have a new clothing sponsor, some company named TOM. Unless she gets her solar power in gear soon, her new duds will only be displayed back on the CLPGA next year.
This was reported in the Sponsorship News folder on March 10:
Her early outfits for this brand were quite garish, but they are much more conservative or professional now.

Someone with a Vietnamese handle posted three YouTube videos covering Round Two, totally 4.5 hours. At most, I'll give them a really fast skim job...since I have a 2 AM buzzer for Round Three.

Couldn't keep my eyes open, but there was a replay on YouTube....the turnout was good, but there were no problems reported regarding packed parking lots and traffic jams since you-know-who wasn't here.
