What a great get-together for the "names" of the Chinese minor leaguers: Pei Ying Tsai, Ting Ting, Mini Ting Ting, the Hou sisters, Babe Liu, Wenbo Liu, Doris Chen, Jessica Peng, Yifan Ji, and Weiwei Zhang. The only significant absentee is Xiang Sui. This runs Thursday thru Saturday at Linkou GC in New Taipei City. They have a field of 108 competing for about $160,000 USD...the top-50 plus ties make the cut after Round Two.
I don't know if this is big enough to be on TV. At random times, I'll play around with the live stream below to see if it's there.
I must have misread the entry list or Wenbo Liu and Weiwei Zhang didn't show up...too bad.
An article says the course is playing at 6736 yards...all four par-fives are over 500 yards and six of the ten par-fours are over 400 yards...the par-threes range between 160 and 180 yards. Hmm...amazing how players who make it to the major leagues are rewarded by playing shorter golf courses. The Hou sisters have that to look forward to...meanwhile, Yu-Sang will start her junior year at U. of Arizona next month and Yu-Chiang will join her as a freshman.
A brutal golf course in the low minor leagues...the cut was +11. Two articles mentioned Pei Ying Tsai switching out her irons set three months ago, which improved her short game...can't find any details on that, but I think she has been with Bridgestone.
