With the Majors done for the year, let's take a look at the standings for the year ending prizes:
Jeong Eun Lee 6 now has the following lead in the Rookie race:
1065 points to 468 for #2 Gillman and 267 for #3 Kupcho.
If you get 150 points for a non-Major win, then Gillman is nearly 600 points, or four wins, behind Lee. Since no one has managed more than three wins this season so far, I have a hard time believing anyone can catch Lucky Six. Lee is almost certain to be the ROY.
Jin Young Ko is just as dominant in Player of the Year:
She has 207 points to 117 for Namdalla and 106 for Lucky Six. You get 30 points for a non-Major, so she has a three win lead right now, and more than three wins on Lee, Thompson and the rest.
Again, it's possible she could be caught, but seems really unlikely.
Money list is more up in the air.
Jin Young has about half a million lead on Lucky Six, around $800K on Namdalla, and $900K on Thompson. But with the million dollar prize at CME and some other good purses ahead, she isn't a lock on this one.
Jin Young has now amassed the third highest season money total for a Sister, behind just Inbee and fellow Ko Lydia. Could she become the first Korean to break $3 million in a season? Stay tuned!
Scoring average:
Jin Young 69.034
Hyo Joo 69.311
Sung Hyun 69.321
Ko has a quarter stroke lead, which is pretty good but not near a lock. She also is on target for the lowest scoring average in history for a Korean. The best non-Korean is Henderson at 69.742, so the Sisters look strong to capture the Vare.
