I went to the LET website to look up who is playing this one and it shows 120 empty spaces. Then I go to the tournament website and it has nothing for the field. However, its various social media links announced four "wildcards" - Dr. Noh, Maria Fassi, Julie McCarthy (who?) and Albane Valenzuela. They also had three qualifier events:
LET: Jabra Ladies Open (May 23-25) - top-two finishers Annabel Dimmock and Pauline Roussin Bouchard(A) Symetra: Island Resort Championship (June 21-23) - top-two finishers Daniella Iacobelli and Cindy Ha. ROK: Hanwha Classic Evian Championship Asia Challenge (June 24) - winner Shi Hyun Ahn

Ha Cindy Ha! Way to go, NJ pros need all the help they can get. So what if I saw you make two four-putts during a nine-hole stretch at your USWO qualifier at Forsgate CC (Banks course) in April ... I'm sure the greens are easier at Evian. She also brings some decent optics for the horndogs in charge.

Say whaaaaat? The original Cinderella is pushing 35 and got into the phoniest major of them all! From a Google mushed article:
Anshi won the Evian Championship in France on July 24 with a three-under 141 total at the Hanwha Classic-Evian Championship Asian Challenge held at Jade Palace Golf Club (par 72) in Chuncheon, Gangwon Province on July 24.
Anshi defeated 40 players in their teens and 20s in a hard-fought tough 36-hole day in a heat wave.
Anshi receives not only tournament tickets, but also round-trip airfare and boarding expenses.

https://www.instagram.com/p/B0Lr8eGnD42 So Yeon Mom doing some reading and relaxing before the Tournament began. She follows and support So Yeon at every tournament. Doesn't bother her doing the round at all. They don't communicate at all until after the round. Haven't seen her sister lately, must be busy with her own career.

The TV schedule is a little disjointed this week thanks to the fact that there is too much golf to show and only one Golf Channel to show it.
One of the PGA Tour's stops this week is Memphis which is now a World Golf Championship event, so much attention will be paid to that. CBS airs the weekend rounds.
The alternate field event is by Lake Tahoe, so The Golf Channel will be covering that.
The Senior Open Championship is at Royal Lytham and St. Annes. NBC will cover the weekend rounds.
Where does that leave Evian? On Thursday and Friday The Golf Channel airs and streams live from 5-7am EDT, then goes streaming only from 7-9:30am as the geezers take over the Channel. The ladies return to the channel from 9:30-11:30am EDT after which they're back to streaming only as the mature gents get one more TV window before the Channel heads off to Memphis.
Saturday and Sunday they're streaming from 6-11:30am EDT but the TV is split between TWO DIFFERENT CHANNELS. The Golf Channel starts from 6-9am EDT before handing off to CNBC (?!?) from 9-11:30am.

It's a good thing the Putt Putt Miniature Golf Championship isn't airing this weekend, or the Evian would be relegated to Animal Planet.
I'm pretty good at keeping up with LPGA coverage but even I can't keep this one straight. This may sink below the ANA for lowest rated major of the year.

OK, now time for the real conversation: how well is Hye Jin Choi going to do this week? KLPGA stars who are having great seasons on that tour have a habit of sneaking wins in LPGA events when no one expects it. Hye Jin has four wins so far in 2019, which, as the Korean press is pointing out, is just like Sung Hyun Park had at the same point in 2016. Park went to the US Women's Open that year and was one botched approach on the final hole away from being in the playoff with Lang and Nordqvist. The Evian feels like the kind of course that Koreans can do well at (less so than the British, where most of the courses have unique challenges). So what do you think -- does Hye Jin contend this week? Don't be surprised if she does. Hwaiting!!!
