As for Shibuno, I have to say that for me (I realize this will be a minority opinion), she crosses the line from happy/exuberant to obnoxious. Since I was not rooting for her particularly, it began to feel like she was laughing at her opponents when she would make a good shot or get a lucky break and immediately start yukking it up.
Stacy, are you lurking here? Yeah, Buhai was so offended that she raised her own arms and clapped when Shibuno rammed in the winning putt at warp speed. The people have spoken...last Thursday I looked at Shibuno's IG and she had about 31K followers...it's now up to 129K.

If Salas had won, raise your hands if you think she would have received a reception close to this at a US airport...I don't see many hands.

Jeongeun Lee6 with the Rep at the 12th green? Is it possible that she may have got a penalty for a rule violation. They didn't show her again after she hit her drive in the water. She hit an iron off the tee but it went too far. Still she only had a about a hundred yards. So she could have easily saved par. But the next hole her score showed that she carded a double bogey. Not sure why they didn't show what happened.
After the drop, she hit her third shot left of the green if I recall correctly. If she didn't get up and down she would have carded a double.

If Salas had won, she would have been greeted at the airport by white men in red hats demanding she "go back to where she came from" ( which is Los Angeles, CA USA )
Disappointed in HappyFan. You gotta try real hard to find fault with Shibuno-sama . I think Buhai's reaction on 18 spoke for what most of the players were thinking.
DON'T embrace your inner Mr3Putt. Dae Korea ( clap clap, clap clap, clap ) won 3 of 5. It's all good Happy.

It makes me appreciate Sung Hyun Park's poker face a little more. It came off (to me at least) as a bit disrespectful. Congrats to her for pulling this one off, but I'm hoping we are not going to be overdosed on her next year. Oh my gosh, what the heck is the matter with you. What kind of monster are you. I feel sorry for you, you must be miserable, joyless, etc etc. People tend to struggle with understanding nuance. That's why I am not going to get into this topic.

Well, here's my defense of Sung Hyun. Please take it as a friendly discussion and nothing more! Not everyone can do a happy dance every time they make a nice shot. And comparing her to Lewis? Lewis is not annoying because she is pouty, she is annoying because she is a world class whiner and bad sport on top of being pouty. I look at it this way: imagine for a minute that every time Park pulled off an extraordinary shot (which is, what, ten - twenty times/round?), she pumped her fist and roared a la Tiger. Now imagine you are rooting for someone else. Would that endear her to you? I think not; in fact, I think it would be even worse. Now imagine how the anti-Korean gallery members would react. She would become public enemy number one in quick time. In a way, the Koreans don't have the luxury of acting like Americans because of this. I agree that I hope she comes out of her shell a little more and shows more reaction. But I think she's in a place where she understands what she is capable of, and is such a perfectionist that anything less than top drawer is not good enough. I think Thompson is the same way, but at least Park doesn't scramble for excuses whenever things go wrong; she just internalizes the emotion, which is not good for her health perhaps, but is still better than throwing your sponsors under the bus like Lexi did. Where you do make a few good points, you have to admit that she is a very slow player who is very boring to watch. I don't know if Shibuno's performance will increase future TV ratings (we might need a new fresh American star who doesn't whine to do that), but don't you think she made lots more fans in a couple of days then Park will ever make (outside of Korea of course)? I do agree that she needs to speed things up a little. And I can totally understand how her style can be off-putting. I'm not a big fan myself. It would be nice if she spoke English occasionally, too. But boring to watch I would not agree with. She has the ability to hit shots I've never seen before, and when she's on her game she can be an awesome presence on the course. I don't root for her like I do others, but I can totally see what they see in her.

Pinacoooon added another 21K IG followers in the last 24 hours...which is about double the total IG followers MHL has now.

I really enjoyed the WBO. In the beginning I wanted Lucky6 to win this thing. In the end I was happy that Shibuno won. To see someone actually smile and laugh playing in a major is just, well I guess refreshing. Not the mention that she played fast. Toooo many slow players out there.
