The Industrial Complex was able to find this event on the TV due to the major runway provided by the Evian.

i think that's BS... both of hinako shibuno's wins on the jlpga, the salonpas major and the new shiseido tournament were 4 rounders... They always come up with that for some reasons. These golfers are young and talented, three rounds, four rounds doesn't matter. I guess she can throw that theory out the window and do some intelligent broadcasting.

In Gee also gladhanded the crowd during her round when she first started on the LPGA, although I haven't seen her do it in awhile. Then again, she hasn't been on TV in awhile. jumpcutDon't forget the Flying Dumbo's are still tour-de-force even though In Gee has been subpar for a long stretch. I guarantee, you'll start to see plenty of In Gee on TV.

The most entertaining round I've witnessed so far this season. Great play by many players (none of them English). Congratulations to the surprise winner! You earned it. I'm glad Lizette and Morgan were able to contend. Sorry, Sung Hyun, Jin Young Ko is without doubt the best player on tour now.
Very aesthetic final results: solo finishes from 1st to 8th with only two players tied ninth.

Congratulations to young Hinako Shibuno for a great win. Great back nines the third and fourth round sealed the deal.
Lizette Salas has to be kind of down, even thou she played a great tournament. Not sure if it was a Major, but she missed a shorter putt on eighteen before . Gave Sung Hyun Park new life, to win in a playoff.
Jin Young Ko gave it her all but came up short. However minus six in the final round strengthen her number one Ranking. Solo third place is also great.
Something that Jeongeun Lee6 needs to fix, is losing focus late in rounds. It's not a new thing she also did it on the KLPGA tour. She got to minus twelve with four birdies on the front side. But had a bogey and double on the back side. The good news is she had a top ten in a Major.
It was so great to showcase these great golfers talent, last two tournaments. Instead of those pitch and putt setups they have been playing.
Oh yeah! Best gallery of the year.

Is that the fastest a putt has ever gone in the hole to win a major?

Some observations:
1- When this tournament started I said to my wife "geez, just another parkland course. Can't we even get a links course for the British Open? This is going to be a bore." I was wrong. In spite of the final score of -18 (I like my winning scores in major championships much lower), this one had me glued to my seat to the very last putt.
2- Loved seeing the large galleries.
3- Might not be a popular statement on here but I have to say it. Sung Hyun Park (who I respect as one of the two best players in the world) has become one of my least favorite players on tour. Don't know which is worse, watching Stacy for years with her pouty face or watching Zombie Park. At least Stacy played fast.
4- Golf and tennis are individual sports where I would say at least 95% of the time we root for players from our own country. NOT THIS WEEK. How could you not be rooting for Shimbuno? I like Salas, she is not a diva, but I found myself rooting against her at the end.
5- If everyone played the game like Hull and Shimbuno, we would have 3 hour and 20 minute rounds.

I was thinking the same about how Sung Hyun Park slow play, would affect the Leaders. I am sorry but Sung Hyun gives me the impression, that she think she is better than other golfers. It seem to bother her when they are playing better. Instead of concentrating on her own game.
While I am ranting. There was a statement about the Hall of Famer Inbee Park. Coming from behind to catch the young Jin Young Ko.
No mention about Inbee not getting it done against Georgia Hall last year.
Also not making birdie or eagle on an easy par five eighteen. A birdie would have tied the lead, an eagle would have won. On another Women British open which Mo Martin won.

Just a little note about Hinako Shibuno. She is second in Player of The Year Ranking and Money Title, on the JLPGA. So she can play the game at a high level.

Just a little note about Hinako Shibuno. She is second in Player of The Year Ranking and Money Title, on the JLPGA. So she can play the game at a high level. Swings it like Dustin Johnson. I’ll say she can play. What’s amazing is that she was able to perform without ever having Solheim Cup experience that’s SO NECESSARY to play well under pressure.

I assume Hinako was eligible to play the Scottish Open if she won this event...or did she have to be an LPGA member to get that perk? She's in the field for the Hokkaido Meiji Cup (Aug 9-11).

I never heard of Beams Golf before this year...Shibuno and Yokomine put them on the map this week.

Lee 6 and the ref at the 12th green ... anyone know what this was about?
