Round 3 BLEAH! Just a day after arguably the most impressive day of the year for the Sisters came a gigantic trainwreck, one of the most painful rounds of the year. Good grief, it was brutal! Inbee was in contention and turned in perhaps the single worst round of golf I've ever seen from her, an 80! This course isn't easy, but come on, it isn't Blackwolf Run, either! A player of her caliber should love a tough challenge. Meanwhile, while So Yeon PARK was winning in Korea, So Yeon RYU couldn't do anything right. Every time they showed her score on the leaderboard, it was worse. 79! In Gee actually played pretty well through 14; she had two par 5s coming and was at 3 under, just one over for the day. Then she made a bogey on 16, a double on 17, and just like that fell to t20th. Chella 77, He Yong Choi 77, gruesome! Out of nowhere, Sei Young Kim fashioned a 68. It was not pretty. She had to make several tough par saves, but also pitched in for eagle and missed a second eagle on the last by a roll. She also had at least one other bomb birdie. Congrats to her, but it's going to be a tough final day if she doesn't tighten up her drives and approaches tomorrow. Good luck to her! The other nice day was Minjee Lee early with a 67. Somehow she went from barely making the cut to contending. Even at six back she actually has a chance to win. Hot Six with a 71 moved into the top ten; tomorrow would be a great day for her to rip off a 66 methinks! Sisters hwaiting!!

Interesting read on why the Koreans dominate women's golf. The author gets it mostly right, although I think culture does play a role. Debunking the Robot Myth
I'm shocked that they used MHL's pic in that article.
He explained why The New Ko and Lucky 6 are great, but didn't shed any real insight on why the Sisters dominate the LPGA.
Our departed goofball fanofseri once said Koreans are proficient in any sport using fists and hand weapons...I can buy that.

This course and setup is for HITTERS.
Charley Hull was right when she said all the easy courses and setups turn events into a big putt-putt contest. When the pins are tucked you can’t just lob a mediocre shot at the middle of the green and make a 10 footer.
SYK, Hull, Amy Yang, Lexi. It’s a jailbreak.

KLPGA star Ji Hyun Kim had career turned around 180 degrees by her coach Seong Hyeon Ahn, who studied the American methods and Trackman technology. The Koreans read our book:

Interesting pairing at 1:10: Kristen Gillman and Jeonguen Lee6 I noticed that, too. Interesting match up to be sure. Six is a slow starter. We've seen that in tournaments this year, and in her seasons she tends to get rolling towards the summer. This would be a great time for her to throw down and show what she is capable of. I don't think the LPGA has yet seen what she has demonstrated repeatedly on the KLPGA. Remember, she is the only KLPGAer to ever shoot a 60. Hot Six hwaiting!

I told Jeong Eun through her Manager that we watched her shoot 60. That it was awesome. She was really surprised and thankful.

18yr old rookie Suzuka Yamaguchi was he only player to make the cut for a downsized team japan. she is having inconsistent start on the tour compared to her amateur years; but is an outstanding putter and drives around 280 yds. sakura yokomine played well at the panasonic this week in japan. dont know where Nasa is this week probably getting ready for the Salonpas. Mina Harigae (USA) made the cut and was able to play in front of her family being born and raised in Monterey. Her family still runs a sushi restaurant in Pacific Grove next to monterey. She had an outstanding amateur career and played at Duke for one year before turning pro. She has been on tour around 10 years and currently around 110 on the priority list. http://instagr.am/p/Bw8f_QFlJRF

Well the lost weekend of tournament golf is over for the sweet lady So Yeon Ryu. It was such a promising start for her but didn't end well. Two weeks off with a visit with family and put it in the past. Put the clubs down enjoy life and come back refreshed. She is a very smart lady and great golfer so she will figure it out.

I noticed my man Shack has been pumping women’s golf up on twitter lately. Credit where its due.
Ol Randall was tweeting that NYC, SYR and Inbee always went out of their way to engage the American audience. Somebody had to.

https://www.instagram.com/p/BxGq5SiAgkt Congratulation to Sei Young Kim for a hang in there win. Not sure why she went at the pin on hole seventeen tied for the lead. With a reachable par five in hole eighteen next. However it's a moot point now because she won. Her experience and ability to drive the ball longer, was a big advantage in the playoff. Over Bronte Law and Jeong Eun6 Lee. Great finish for Jeongeun Lee6 on the back nine, three birdies and an eagle. Following a lackluster even par front nine. I think that I mentioned before that she has a lot of heart. Kudos: To Bronte Law for low round, to tie for first.
