This discussion about having a Ladies "Master" and therefore a 6th major is a joke. Hey why stop at 6....CWO attracts a world class field along with much larger than average galleries....make it the 7th major.....heck Hana and the HSBC should be majors too.....let's round it to 10 and make the Oz Open a major too. Next thing we'll see on the LPGA is an event on a par 3 course...oh what....the Champions Tour already thought of this....lol. OK.....a LPGA mini putt event would be appropriate. I don't want a Ladies Masters, but I can certainly understand the reason others do. The Masters goes beyond being a golf event to being one of the most well known and popular sporting events in the world every year. Any involvement with the event would probably be a big boost for the ladies. The folks who run it claim they are trying to spread the game; they include little kids (including girls) in the festivities. But not women. How can you be serious about spreading the game if you ignore the single biggest demographic in the world? (Note that involvement would not necessarily mean playing their own event there. How about inviting them to the par 3 contest (isn't that a thing they do?)? Letting them play during the previous weekend instead of the kiddies? There are many possible answers). As I said, I would personally not want it, but if it came to pass as a real event, they could always reduce the Major status of the LPGA Championship or whatever it's called now and the Evian/ANA. Wouldn't be hard to go back to four Majors if needed.

How can you be serious about spreading the game if you ignore the single biggest demographic in the world? . Yes, women are 50% of the world's demographic....BUT....as much as women enter golf....they are just as fast to exit golf.....so effectively there are significant new net add female golfers especially in the Western hemisphere. It's the avid male golfers who are having the most impact on the golf industry....it's they who are driving the industry.....spending $1000's if not $10,000/yr watching, attending events, club ho'ing, golfing and going on 'boys' golf vacation. Has there ever been a regular female contributor on this site?.....likely not .....and except for Anthony...the major demographic on this site are middle aged men....also the main demographic on all other golf forums I have ventured to view too. IMO....it is women themselves to blame why women's golf hasn't grown to keep pace with men's golf. Rather than a quick fix of hanging their coat tails on The Masters....figure out, develop, implement and execute initiatives to grow your own tour and majors.....you are 1/2 the population.

Sure, it's not Augusta's responsibility to grow the game for women; but they make big claims that they want to grow the game, hence the chip and putt thing. Well, the place you'll grow it the most is the largest group with the least current buy in - women. If they are serious about what they say (I doubt they are), that's where they should focus their efforts.

If women want to grow the game...then it's up to WOMEN to grow their own sport/tour....the main and largest audience of women's golf are men. Augusta doesn't care about anything except for their own agenda. They made Condi, Darla & Virginia members only as a ceremonial gesture. Augusta doesn't need any corporate money to fuel any initiatives they desire...they do things to feed their own egos and objectives and that's fine with me and many others. I have no issues if they want to keep it a men's only club just as I have no desire to be a member at an Only Female fitness center. The general public agrees with this too....they have accepted the policies of Augusta National.....otherwise they would boycott The Masters and the attendance would be similar to the ANA's and any other women's major attendance....minimal.

I have zero respect for them, and don't ever watch the Masters. But as I said, I kind of like that Creamer and others are exposing how hollow their rhetoric is by taking them at their public word re: growing the game. Yes, it's not Augusta's job to grow the game for women. So they should just shut up about it and move on. They run the biggest golf event in the world. They are NOT the saviors of golf, and it is galling to hear these twits try to position themselves as such.

You don't watch The Masters because you are not really interested in men golf and not because of Augusta's policies. The only thing that interests you about golf is women's golf and specifically 'real' Korean female golfers. But if there were a Ladies Masters held at Augusta and a Sista was leading or going for the career grand slam, etc....I know you be watching the perfectly manicured grounds of Augusta. Let me guess...the USO will be held in Tacoma, basically in your back yard, in just over 6 weeks.....are you attending based on paying for your own tickets vs. some corporate tickets being thrown at you? But if a USWO was hosted in Seattle....unless there were huge conflicts you'd be attending and likely for several days.

True, but a big part of what I don't like about men's golf is the country club types that infest the sport, including the guys who run Augusta.

It shouldn't be so busy when I attend the Tuesday practice rd....just received my tickets on Friday.....practice tickets are still available....pretty cheap too....$50.....but more $ because of our unfavorable Canadian peso. Thur-Sun tix have been sold out for quite some time. A friend and I expect to leave at 2am and hopefully catch the 1st shuttle at 6am....he's a TW fanboy and TW usually is out early to avoid the crowds/fans. We'll likely stay till 8-9pm......so I will pretty much be up for 24 hours and I'm no longer a young pup. In 2013...I started driving to Portland for the Safeway starting at 1am (wife didn't attend that year to help with the drive) through pouring rain on my own and arrived at Edgewater 8am.....I was so out to lunch all day watching golf...I stayed till 8pm.....I went up to congratulate Belen Mozo on her recent Solheim play...duh.....Belen wasn't on the team.....sleep deprivation. I had trouble driving that night in the rain....so I stopped several times to try to shut my eyes for 15 minutes at all the pull over stops along I5 that are manned by volunteers.....many veteran vols.

Yeah, when I played, it was most likely to be with a blue collar guy, but I'm playing munis, not private courses (cause they're cheap and I'm terrible).
