Against all odds, Xiang Sui made the cut. That's the best thing we can say about her.

Against all odds, Xiang Sui made the cut. That's the best thing we can say about her. I have a feeling she's not going to win the Buick or Blue Bay to gain LPGA membership. She might have gone to JPLGA Q-School instead of the Samdasoo this week, although the result probably wouldn't have been any better. She seems to have this pattern of terrible R1s, terrific R2s, then who-the-heck knows for the rest of the tournament.

Xiang Sui can be the second best female Chinese golfer; she can't do that playing CLPGA. She should try LPGA Q-School, Symetra Tour and the whole nine yards. Yu Liu is a LPGA rookie via Symetra Tour; she has been on the rise leaving Xiang Sui in the dust.

For a CLPGAer to make the cut on the KLPGA...well, that's pretty good, I didn't expect that. I guess she's improving, but among the young PRC starlets Muni He is way better and so is Weiwei Zhang who picked up a T-19 at the JLPGA's NEC this week (dumb photographers seemed to have ignored her there ).
There are two more groups of Stage One JLPGA q-school playing Aug. 29-31...trying that four-stage gauntlet would be a good development experience. Don't know if Xiang has any interest in Japan...the fields won't get posted until the event starts.

That reminds me...tomorrow is the deadline to submit for Stage One and Stage Two LPGA q-school. No prelim fields have been posted yet. Assuming Xiang want's to try the LPGA, she'll probably have to play Stage One at the California Blast Furnace in late August...she's not high enough in the RR at #428 to start at Stage Two, although she should move up a little after Monday's re-rankings.
On a side note, Muni He and Karen Chung are kicking up some dust this PM in Milwaukee...not enough to win, but the 2019 Shop-Rite/Acer is starting to look better and better. As for Grace Na, she is a doll...but except for nailing her USWO qualifier, she has been dreadful this year.

It was great seeing Lucky Six make a strong weekend charge to get to T-2nd. She may finally be starting to rev up her engines after a slow start. After this week she is 11th on the money list.
Meanwhile, Ji Hyun Oh ended her post-Korea Women's Open slump with a vengeance. Can she join the billion-won club this year? She'll probably need two more wins to do it, but she now has six career wins and is playing at an all time high for her career. And boy, is she a good front runner, judging by her win margins.
Throw in Hye Jin, also with a runner up and still leading POY and scoring average, and we have the makings of a great three way battle for the top!

Congratulation to Ji Hyun Oh for another runaway win. Great weekend for Jeong Eun6 Lee, not too good for Jin Young Ko. I hope she isn't getting tired, because she isn't use to playing this many four round tournaments. Neither is Dean, her caddie, since he caddied for Jiyai Shin and Hee Kyung Seo.
