The Penguin never could compete with The Alligator in the western hemisphere. When my dad passed away (2002)....my mom gave to the Sally Ann....a great orange jacket from my dad...I was so mad....he was the host to two Taiwanese pros for the 1967 Carling O'Keefe event and the committee gave him the jacket...other received jackets too....it had a gorgeous left patch pocket logo...it would have been a great dinner jacket. But I was more upset when my mom was cleaning out the garage.....some guy was walking by and my mom gave away my dad's Hogan Apex irons....WTF....I would have went through the house (Toronto)...but I had to return to Vancouver after the funeral and other affairs. At least I collected his golf trophies and have them here along with some other great golf pics of dad.

Similar purse as the NZ Open...but the Japan Open pays off the winner more than the cheque Tina will hand out in Auckland. If the pros don't venture to Cape Kidnappers before or after the NZ Open...then they are CONFUSED.

Or Tara Iti - closer and just as good. SWEET....never heard of it. But Mike...you have to understand that we peasants here on ss.com are not a BIG SHOT pro like you...who can obtain a courtesy play at a private course like Tara Iti....we public golf bums here (except for SYRfan who can shell out $755 for ANA valet parking).......need to shell out the $500 to slum at Cape Kidnappers. I met a random guy playing golf years ago...he was an Air Canada flight attendant and asked if I was interested in a boys golf trip to NZ....Air Canada's "family and friends" deal flights to NZ was only $400 return...unfortunately AC stopped flying to NZ a month later....lol. Mike I played with a guy decades ago and he told me golfers were expected to play golf in NZ in 3.5 hours....is this true?...likely not ......since Lydia often slow plays her opponents....Tina has taught her well. You likely know that a public golf round norm here in North America is 4.5 to 5 hrs...WTF....ugh.

I agree the prices are madness. Barnbougle in Tasmania at $75US is way better value than either CK or TI. But both courses are incredible and until they were built there were only a few decent courses in NZ. Lots of golf in NZ is quite fast. They don't fool around too much and most of their courses are quick to play. One of the best courses there is Arrowtwon in Queenstown - maybe $400 a year to be a member.

No wonder the Koreans relocate their kids to NZ to become golf robots....it's $400 just to play a rd of golf in Korea at a nicer course. One can only imagine how many more great female golfers would come out of Korea if golf was cheaper and more accessible.

That wouldn't be fair - there would be no other nationalities on tour! When Su Oh first came to Melbourne - where she started playing golf - she would have been paying about the same for membership at a really nice club. It's really cheap for kids here and really accessible - yet we have so few decent women players. When Su and Minjee turned pro they left a big hole. The last 2 years 6 of the 8 players in the semi-final of the Aust Am were Koreans - and 2 Australians. Geoff Ogilvy started playing for nothing at Royal Melbourne so long as he caddied there a bit.

Munsingwear originally made long-underwear that didn't itch in cold ars Minnesota.

Do you know much about Minjee? I've only seen her two brief times...but I have a feeling that she's pretty introverted and doesn't really want the attention. But let's face it....there are lots of introverted golfers...there's many golfers who like to play alone. I think Lexi is also a natural introvert.

I know Minjee a bit - I'd say that's right. She is quiet, doesn't have the presence of many of the other top players and seems uncomfortable with the media - which is not a criticism. It's just how she is She is quite hard to get to know - unlike her brother MinWoo. He is a really nice kid and a tremendous player quite capable of winning the Asian Am next month in NZ and getting into The Masters.

They'll have live streaming at the start of every round here: tokai-tv.com/munsing/live.htmlSuperb video quality...currently showing the driving range. Not sure of the run time...I think it starts at 6 PM EST each day. ******* Yes, Sky Kim is a no-show...didn't feel well during Wed. pro-am and departed by ambulance. Excerpt of translated article: Dizziness caused by migraine is caused by poor physical condition this time. There were also symptoms such as dehydration symptoms. As a result of doing MRI examination at the emergency hospital, it was diagnosed as abnormal, after the examination, taking treatment such as drip and taking a rest at the hotel, I consulted with my own condition and became the decision of this time . According to the manager, Hanul said, "It is a very important match, so I wanted to get out as much as I can ... but I am sorry," he says.
