The LPGA really needs to rethink these course setups. The Ladies are losing respect of some amateurs that I play with. They think the courses are set up too easy for pro golfers. They need to showcase these golfers talent, instead there are birdie fests. Maybe they make them easy to shorten the time for TV coverage. If anybody know the answer, please let me in on it. The last time I checked there were two golfers over par, + 1. Sandra Gal was one of them. I agree on the course setups. The men are hitting higher lofted clubs but that's because they can't move the tees back any farther. If the women played a little longer courses they could market around the fact that they are playing courses at the proper length vis a vis the design. They may have gotten a bump in the ratings at one time for turning it into a birdie fest but they could make another splash by making things harder and saying they do.

What a tense finish on the 18th green. Buhai must have been nervous, she was doing a lot of fidgeting while kirk was about to roll her putt.

The only thing they did right today was set-up the 17th at 186 yds today....otherwise they were playing a pitch & putt....a 112 yd par 3...really??....WTF.

Did you guy hear how LOUD Tutta was SCREAMING at her ball on 15 to stop...she makes Kerr seem like Marcel Marceau.
I hope Tutta and Kerr playing singles in Des Moines....it will be EPIC to watch Tutta DISMANTLE Kerr.

Great putt on 18 by Kirk...nice shot by Buhai too. Katherine is just PURE CLASS.
I'm sure after Happyfan tucks in his daughter to bed tonight...he'll have a brief chime-in to tell us all how Badass was robbed of a win.

Congratulation to Katherine Kirk. She hung in there for the win with all the golfers coming after her. That has not been her strong suit lately.
Great round for Sei Young Kim, just started a little too far back.

I could tell because she was standing in the middle of the fairway 20 yards past her playing partner who was about to hit her 2nd shot.

It was very exciting watching Sei Young Kim launch that unlikely assault on the leaders. But because the course is so easy, I had almost no doubt that Kirk was going to somehow find enough birdies to hold her off, no matter how low Sei Young went. That drains some of the fun out of the tournament. I also don't like it when you see a bunch of third tier players shooting 66s. It's nice to see the excellent players rewarded, and these bunny courses allow too many lesser talents to shoot low scores. Having said that, it was still fun to pretend that SYK had a chance to take this one, and with the kind of amazing endings Kim's wins sometimes have, a hole-out wasn't out of the question (alas, no!). Congrats to Kirk for holding on!

I spent most of the weekend enjoying the summer weather and thought I would miss coverage of this tournament but I caught the last few holes. Impressive crowds! Good birdie on the final hole by Katherine (I always hear "Captain") Kirk to hold on to win. Seven years since she last won.
