The TV hours this week is a fraction of what it will be in 2 weeks at US Women's Open; so are the field. KPMG has a long way to go before it can be mentioned in the same breath as US Women's Open. The irony is it has to lose the "KPMG" in the title before it can be mentioned in the same breath as USWO. Let's see if the PGA of American is willing to put their money where their mouth is, and subsidizes a women's tournament like the USGA. To the players; a dollar is a dollar whether it's from the sponsor or a national organization. Also KPMG has done a good job to promote the event.

No great championship has a corporate name in front of it. No Korean has ever said Se Ri Pak winning the McDonald's LPGA Championship has changed their lives. ( Even though she won it before she won the USWO )

However, it's nice that KPMG is footing a $3.5 million tournament; a McDonald's LPGA would have a $2.5 million purse.

argonne69 should quietly follow In Gee; we don't want In Gee to miss another cut like at the Volvik. Isn't that getting close to stalking. She is out there to try and win a tournament.

In Gee and Minjee will need to contend to find any TV time this week. PGA of America has a heavy hand on pairings this week; they totally discarded the credentials In Gee has built with LPGA over the last 18 months. One thing about the Conservative Republican Open Championship Of Lady Stars (or CROC OF S for short) is that the LPGA lays down and lets the PGA and NBC throw red meat at the casual sports fan with coverage and pairings. They made it up to Minjee and In Gee by letting them play with their buddy Masson.

When Brooke won the PGA it became bigger than the US Open.

Winner this week will get $525,000; slightly over half of USWO's $900,000 but is the second biggest prize on tour.

( Even though she won it before she won the USWO ) The US Open is sponsored by Fox Sports. At least at the USWO, there is no Pro-Am where the players have to entertain Joe Buck and Bill O'Reilly. The USWO is big money losing business. Kudos to USGA, putting their money where their mouth is and keeps throwing the FOX money to increase the women's purse. I just wish they put in more effort to push the big name courses to host the women's.

Yeah, I made the headcover. I will try to catch So Yeon at the putting green or range. 'Too much going on at the 1st tee. Besides, I probably won't see her tee off at#1, as I'll be with The Rocket for a few holes before catching So Yeon on the 2nd or 3rd hole. I have a small treat for Dumbo as well.

I might even rather have a sponsor for women's events so nobody feels like they are doing any favors, they can play great courses and the promotional effort brings the fans out.

Arg...don't forget to bring The Rocket and Dumbo some snacks, candy or a small gift....you'll regret it if you don't...Karma RULES!! argonne69 should quietly follow In Gee; we don't want In Gee to miss another cut like at the Volvik. Hard to follow quietly when one sticks out like a sore thumb.
