It's frustrating how the Golf Channel is trying to make Danielle Kang's win all about Michelle Wie AGAIN. After all the hard work and tough breaks Kang got, they should be relentlessly focusing on creating another "needle mover", rather than shoving Wie down our throats for the umpteenth time. Some examples: Kang Eats noodles from trophyHilarious quote: "If there's anyone who knows how to celebrate a breakthrough major championship victory, it's Michelle Wie." www.golfchannel.com/news/ryan-lavner/monday-scramble-july-3-2017This article is about celebrity supporters of Kang who congratulated her. Prominently featured: Michelle. Shouldn't this articles be about non-LPGA players who cheered for her? Why is it notable that one of her best friends on tour is excited? (the above article also had this gem: Sure, those three are the only ones that matter. Sounds like this guy hasn't looked at a rankings list in about eight months...) I'm totally with you, but give em a break. They are doing their absolute best IMO.

I'm totally with you, but give em a break. They are doing their absolute best IMO. To paraphrase Dee Schneider of Twisted Sister, "If that's their best, their best won't do". I just noticed that not only is the Henderson quote an attempt to impose a rivalry on the tour that isn't organically there, but their statement that she is playing the best of the three isn't even true. Ariya, who was recently #1, is absolutely, undeniably having a better season than Henderson so far. Sigh.

I was at the tournament every day.
As one gentleman said, the weather forecast at the beginning of the week looked awful. But it turned out great.
Play was suspended at 7pm on Thursday. About six groups had to finish the next morning. There was a 30 minute delay, starting at about 2pm, on Friday.
Drives were measured on hole six, but many players, if not most, used a three wood. (Still, Lydia was pretty weak, hitting less than 210.)
Hole 14 was shortened drastically on Saturday, but was moved back on Sunday.
Hole 18 was by far the easiest hole. Going into Sunday, there were three eagles on holes 1 through 17. And 15 on 18.
Suzann Pettersen seems to be the most pathetic personality on the tour.
The billboards advertising the tournament featured four golfers. Get ready to get irritated. Brooke Henderson (which is OK, as she is the defending champion), Stacy Lewis, Michelle Wie (has anyone ever produced less than expected than her?), and Cheyenne Woods (currently ranked either 272nd in the world, or 136th).
Parking in the Metra lot, right next to the entrance, $1.25 all day, was the way to go.
Ai Miyazato had a pretty decent gallery of Japanese people following her. (I assumed they were Japanese, then verified it by speaking to them in Japanese.)
Some golfers literally had a gallery of zero.
Mi Jung "M.J." Hur might need an attitude adjustment.
I did see one golfer (not a sister) take two shots to get out of a sand trap.
Some golfers were hosted by local residents.

Interesting summary. Having been to a few LPGA majors, that's about how it looked on TV.
Croud looked pretty sparse on Thursday and Friday, improving on the weekend, but definitely not a big croud. I remember trying to get around at Lancaster US Open and it was like,a PGA event with the heavy crouds every day.
What caused the comments on MJ Hur and Pettersen?

I get your point but they don't use CW all the time so this seems like as good a place as any to work her in.

Suzann "Pottymouth" Pettersen was rude to a marshal. Her ball was behind a tree, and the marshal thought she asked him something. She rudely told him she didn't. When an American acts rudely in a foreign country, they are referred to as an Ugly American. Well, Pettersen should remember that she is actually a guest here.
Mi Jung Hur was mad because SHE hit the ball into the rough. A marshal was ahead of her ball, marking it for the other golfer, who also hit it into the rough, but a little farther, and was told to move. Mi Jung hit the ball out of the rough when he wasn't clear, and wasn't looking.
There was one Black golfer, Sedena Parks, plus Cheyenne Woods, who is a mix of nationalities.
There were zero lefthanders in the tournament.
Just my opinion; I'd like to see some old timers in the tournament. At the bottom of the standings, the ladies were 30 strokes behind the winner. Maybe they just weren't ready for this. Just my opinion, but I would like to see ten or so spots given to the legends. (Laura Davies was in the tournament.)
I did see some guy with a funny hat walking around.

Maybe if they get this senior LPGA Championship up and running, some will get exemptions to this stage.

If seniors want to play they should try to qualify. They should not be given the spot of a young golfer trying to keep her card.

If seniors want to play they should try to qualify. They should not be given the spot of a young golfer trying to keep her card. Depends on the tournament. T&C pros get spots on the KPMG PGA, just as they do in the men's PGA tournament. And a sponsors exemption is available in most tournaments.
