Don Thx....I forgot about this....I woke up early this morning and caught the last 5 minutes of MD. Yup...Koreans are golf crazed....I've played with Koreans here who are willing to play in the muck and drizzle....men and women.

Sirak and Mell definitely get it. I mean they all sorta do. The problem is the people behind the curtain with their hands on the levers of power that don't want the TV personalities to treat the ROKers as individual stars like they would Americans. Yes I'm a conspiracy buff willing to deal in hyperbole and misinformation.

Ha ha, I like that phrase 'golf-industrial complex', which I believe I coined on my blog back in 2013. don is a man after my own heart. Do American golf folks look at people like Brian Mogg as a kind of Uncle Tom? IMO you can't blame people for figuring out where the bread is buttered though.

It was the GIC who chopped down the Eisenhower Tree IMO.

It may be ok for printed media. But for live TV , should Dumbo bring the Doctor with her to Morning Drive ?

Randell is a rogue. Instead of complaining/explaining lack of Americans the GIC should profile how much fun In Gee fans are having compared to those left to cheer Stacy chewing out MHL.

No talk from the GIC of the "Big 3" of Ko, Ariya and In Gee, rolex 1, 2, 3, now that Brooke is #8.

So just last week Randell was part of the GIC, and in one week he went from zero to your hero? Wonder why a fat and lower ranked pro like Shanshan got more coverage than the Korean stars ? Because she is a better quote. Which is good for TV and print. Don, listen, I understand your frustration in not getting more Dumbo, but it is up to her now.

Regular LPGA beat writers are all great. To me the complex is more about the highligh shows and producers that simply service the widest audience, which contains more casual fans by definition. I'm a little conflicted about mentioning reporters at all. Ultimately they are part of the same entertainment industry though and you can't have entertainment without critics. I think Dumbo has met the American "golf fan" way more than 1/2 way this year. It's up to them now IMO but I understand your viewpoint that it's binary. Either you speak well enough or you don't. I see it as points on a slope and what should matter to people is that she's moving it in the right direction. In the mean time she should use a ribbon I guess.

The March 7, 2016 Reuters article said it was a 7-kilo (about 15 pounds) suitcase that hit Dumbo. Mell's recent article (above) says it was a 25-pound suitcase. By next March they'll say she got flattened by a steamer trunk. Doesn't matter...Dumbo is awesummer! llll

When Henderson started the year and moved to #2, it was the Rivalry between Ko and her. When Ariya started playing so well, it was the Big Three. Now it's 'look at all the young stars challenging Ko'. At least In Gee is included sometimes in that group.
