Yup....the X95 is the 'stock' AP1 shaft. I think those clubs are yours considering he's never asked for them back....but don't you feel guilty holding onto AP1's if you only play once every two months?....I guess he has a ton of money so keeping his AP1's is irrelevant.
Last week I demo'd the PSi w/ 105 KBS C Tapers stiff, PSi Tours w/ DG S300 and AP2's with AMT DG S300....I found the PSi Tours gave me the best results with the tightest dispersion. I was kinda shocked...as I don't really love DG's.
But this was in a sim...hitting off a mat...IMO...hitting off grass on a range is the only key measurement....and the best measurement is demo'ing clubs on the course.

He isn't a great friend. I doubt I will keep them. The PSi Tours are beautiful. So expensive- like everything else. I went to Golfsmith yesterday and I didn't really see anything that was a great deal. I wanted a pair of Adidas shorts (20% off) but they only had size 30 or 42. They have dismantled the hitting area and there aren't any golf balls for sale. Then I went up to LA and stopped at Roger Dunn West Los Angeles. It is the best store in LA/OC along with Roger Dunn Santa Ana. I believe San Diego has better golf shops than LA/OC.

Considering you don't play much....you can find some really good used irons that were launched with the last 6 years on Craigslist, on line or eBay for approx $200. You guys in the US have so many more good quality & cheap used inventory vs. Canada.

They are really dragging this out...every couple of weeks they increase the discount, but there's still stuff that hasn't sold yet. They're up to 40% off on new drivers, iron sets, and wedges. The grips are 70% off. The display fixtures and shop tools/machines are also for sale. I was in there last week and the shoes were almost completely wiped out, but they had a pair of 10.5 UA Drive One (Black/White) which caught my eye. They were 50% off the original price of $200, which makes them cheaper than any I saw later on Ebay. I tried them on and they felt good, but could only walk with baby steps because they had a heavy plastic security strip connected to both shoes. It's interesting that the uppers are man-made...there's natural snobbery against non-leather uppers, but UA is quite hi-tech, so it must be good. I later read some good online reviews about these shoes...the only negative was the SLIM-Lok spike system; someone said they were really hard to replace and he ended up stripping the holes to get the old spikes off. I dropped by again last night to reconsider those shoes, but they were gone. The shoe discount is now 60%...they had a couple of pairs of Drive Ones there, but not my size.
They also have a few demo driver shafts with sleeves attached for $20. From looking at them, I wouldn't know if any would fit my Adams XTD...I should bring it with me next time.

Phil....there's great GS thread on WRX....I'm so jealous of the deals going on.
I wouldn't worry about missing out on the shoes....there are so many shoe deals and so cheap in the US....besides you don't want to be a poser and wear fake leather...Puma also does the faux leather thing too.
Ya....bring your XTD in....a $20 shaft with an adapter is a no brainer. I like some of the Kuro Kage shafts, Diamana and Rogue Silver and Black shafts are nice and a steal for $20.
How far do you live away from GS? GS is not selling any chattels on stores which will convert to GG or the lease sold to another golf store.
I just got a SMOKIN deal off eBay from Toronto for a set of JPX 825 Pros with KBS Tour stiffs....heck...I basically only paid a bit more that the cost of the new GP MCC 4+ that were installed on the irons......too bad were in a deep freeze with 6" of snow....WTF.
Oh ya...and we all know who used to play the JPX 825 Pros...yes...the LOVELY HYP....but on the -ve side....so did Ms. Pouty Face.

I think they had all these shafts there, but which models and flexes? I don't remember. I'm going to look them up online for the specs and bring a cheat sheet with me. It would have to be noticeably lighter than my 65g R-flex Matrix 6Q3 Red Tie shaft. They also had a barrel of raw shafts, but the only driver shafts in it were the green Aldila NVs, can't remember which flex/weight. But, then I'd have to get an adapter for it, which I've never installed before...probably not worth the trouble.

But, then I'd have to get an adapter for it, which I've never installed before...probably not worth the trouble. No...only buy a shaft with the adapter....the adapter alone is worth $25 and an install charge is $20-$25. What's your driver club head speed? Do you have a fast or smooth transition? What are you typical misses...left, right, high or low? I wouldn't get too technical with a bunch of specs....there is no standard on shafts. Get a staff member to give you a wrench so you can take your time and self help. I imagine most of the shafts for $20 are the OEM's made for shafts....I honestly doubt you'll find any REAL expensive after market shafts. Easy way to test for shaft flex is to put the grip on the ground and then bend the shaft putting weight onto the head. Also waggle the club to verify whip. You'll notice the Red Tie is quite stout when comparing it to other shafts. Most shafts are 60 gms....but most of the stock TM shafts are 50 gms especially on old AeroBurner shafts. I will admit I like my 50 gm stock Jetspeed stiff shaft (although it is kinda a junkie shaft) more than my 57 or 60 gm stiff Speeder Evolution that's a better shaft. Although I've gone from 90 gms to 120 gms in my KBS in my new/used Mizuno....I'm more interested in dispersion vs. distance in my irons. Considering GS is in bankruptcy...I doubt they'll do a trade on the Red Tie...but never ask...never know.

Dropped by GS today...their demo shafts are down to $10! Unfortunately, none of them had my kind of adapter. The Adams XTD looks like a three-headed gopher to GS these days. Most of their shafts appeared to be as stiff or stiffer than what I have now. However, one of their shafts was a Kuro Kage A-flex 50g...I would have gambled $10 on that one, but it's useless with a Nike adapter. On the other hand, maybe I should grab it as a future project. There's a Youtube video on removing an adapter from one shaft and installing it on another shaft...it's not difficult to do, but what normal person would have the the big bench machine that can pull the adapter from the shaft?!! I should show the video to my dad and see if any he has any ideas with all the tools and gadgets he has at his place. I looked up adapters for the Adams XTD driver on Ebay...a few people sell "high quality aftermarket" adapters for less than $12 w/ free shipping.

Phil Any shaft without a head on it is gonna feel like a board...even a senior shaft.
You're gonna do what your gonna do...but if I was in your shoes. I'd sell the XTD....you're not loving it...so why keep it. Sell it on Craigslist.....I'm sure you can get your money back if not more.
$10 for a shaft that you've never hit, $12 for an adapter and $25 removal and installation of an adapter (ya it might seem simple enough but proper removal and installation of a graphite shaft is not that easy...there's a reason why club fitters have a shaft puller machine and the epoxy they use is not the same as a Home Depot epoxy) plus $50 XTD = $97 for a driver that you may or may not like.

Dropped by the GS in East Brunswick again today...closing in seven days, says the sign. I think they'll need more than seven days if they expect to unload every single Callaway XR driver...they have a ton of them. At 60% off the original price, they're $140 each. Apparently, no one bought the Boeing-designed malarkey. The grip supply was almost completely wiped out. They had plenty of Medalist grips, which are cheap and thin, but only one Lamkin left (REL 3GEN, white), so I bought it for 89 cents plus tax. Still some nice wedges left...they had one new Mizuno JPX-850 Forged gap wedge with a TT XP 115 S300 shaft...just beautiful. At 60%, it is $50, but I exhibited self control and passed on it. The used iron sets section was heavily depleted...it included a solitary Ping Karsten 1 seven-iron...is there a club more butt-ugly than that one? Not much left among the demo irons, but the display rack included a Ping Eye-2 black dot 4-iron. It didn't look like a demo...more like an orphan club...had a $9.99 sticker on the shaft. If it were 60% off that price, I'd buy it as a toy to goof around with on the range...might even be useful on long-ish par threes. When you look down on the head it's amazing how much offset it has. This Ping model is legendary...shook up the market 25-30 years ago. But, I take it to the counter and they say the 60% does not apply to demos and clunkers. Since it was not $4, I passed on it. But, can you believe they used the word "CLUNKER" in reference to this club?! I think Old Man Solheim must have punched a hole from inside his pine box at that moment. I wonder what's left at the GS in Bridgewater...it's out of my way, but maybe I can get there soon to see what they have left. BTW, the North Coast Golf Show is coming to this area in mid-February, so I have the luxury of being choosy regarding what's left to sell at GS. When GS is gone from central NJ, I'll be curious to see if Dick's will improve the quality of its golf stock. They always had the top-end woods, but rarely did they have the top-end iron sets.

I think any excess inventory will be sent to the nearest GG store.
If you're talking about the 2015 XR driver...it's a pretty good deal at $140....but GG is dumping them for $199...but...IMO...the Px LZ shaft is a piece of licorice garbage.
I don't have a G wedge with my 825 Pro's and the 850 Forged would fit well....but....the TT XP is a high launch shaft and I'd want something a bit more stout to avoid balloon balls w/ a G wedge.
All those old one-off demo clubs are worthless...only worth a buck.
Ya...I bought some full cord Medalist grips cheap here at GT....yup they are thin...but they have good cord.....I needed to build my grips with many many layers of tape...a pain in the butt....and with so much tape...they were hard to install.
My Cobra Amp Cells have REL 3Gen's.....an OK grip...I've logged around 120 rds on them....they are still pretty tacky and in really good shape. But I'm a Lamkin fanboy...especially the full cords....I've been playing them for years and can make the grips last for well over 3 years.....they can last for 5+ years too....just keep them clean and sand them now and then to release some cord.
