I guess that was the stupid plan all along. The tournament went from must see tv to maybe i will watch a few minutes.
Terminator is out of it and IGC is doomed as well.

Luckily, she shot 80...if she shot Alison Lee's score then the retirement ceremony would be a little embarrassing.
The ceremony was quite involved (the JTBC Golf replay is ending now)...a choir of little kids dressed in white were singing, and then one of them steps out and sings solo. I doubt GC will show all of it. If you missed it, the next JTBC Golf replays will be on Fri 10/14 at 2 AM and 8 AM (Korea time).

After reading about her caddy and also the fan that flew in from Arkansas, I can't help but think SYSR made it to the golf course yesterday. Christina Kim really screwed him over. He was right, Se Ri should have been at ANA.

He was right, Se Ri should have been at ANA. I doubt SayYouSeri flew over to Incheon.....he's likely still in the binder....and he wouldn't want to embarrass himself again crying when LPGA security asked him why he flew 6000 miles to stalk Se Ri. Korean women only respect strong willed men. It's a shame Xtina shafted SYSR....I bet prior to the incident at the ANA...he was the lead candidate to loop for Se Ri yesterday. If he did attend..great...hopefully he can post some pictures of his experience....he still lurks here every now and then.

Round 1 Kind of a lackluster start for the Sisters. Hopefully they'll be able to pick up the pace in round 2. The one gal who has been playing well who brought it today was Inky, and that's surprising considering this event usually is a better fit for bombers. But good 4 under par start to put herself in the hunt. My goodness did In Gee have an up and down day, at least what I saw of it. I saw her hit superlative irons on 10 and 11 for birdies. Then she gets to the drivable par 4 15th, puts it in the bunker, hits a horrible sand shot way over the green, hits her chip well past the hole, and putts her return par several feet past. Yeesh! No way you should be dealing with worse than par on this hole and she's facing a possible double bogey (fortunately, she made the bogey putt). She looked uncharacteristically, but understandably, annoyed. She later added another bogey on 16 after short siding herself on her approach, then put her second shot on the par 5 18th into the perfect spot to make it tough to get a birdie (and indeed, wound up with another par). Just not executing her shots like she should, or perhaps not planning them out, although I suspect it's the former. Sung Hyun Park and Sei Young Kim also were mediocre; Park had a 62 in the first round last year. Amy went from finishing with nine straight birdies last year to a 71. Interesting that Ko was 3 over on the day, and that after making birdies on the final two holes. Ariya was also flat with a 73. So In Gee improved her scoring average position a fraction against those two despite a so so day. The less said about Se Ri's play the better. It's really hard to see her play so poorly, even if it is her final week on tour and she is far past her peak. On the other hand, NYC had her best round in quite a while, actually under par. Will it last? We'll see. As far as the KLPGA is concerned, Cecilia Jeong Min Cho managed a 4 under, and Seon Woo Bae a 70. Bae seems like a good sleeper candidate; someone who has played well all year, won twice, but is not a superstar; the big Korean stars rarely wins this event for some reason. Wonder if Cecilia and Lydia have had a reunion yet? Hwaiting! Inky NYC Ji Hee Kim I think In Gee Chun w/ Lydia w/ Terminator Sung Hyun Park Minjee Lee -- great start for her! Ha Na Jang MJ Hur Se Ri Pak So Yeon Ryu -- stuck in the mass at even par Jin Young Ko Ji Hyun Oh

If you're one of the locals who planned to see Se Ri Pak play in person on the weekend, it's too late, you blew it...she quit after shooting 80. Was that the plan all along? Yup...it was all planned out. The Koreans continue to embarrass themselves....there are 24 million Koreans in metro Seoul...yet there were maybe only 500 people at Se Ri's retirement ceremony. I think it a big sham how much Se Ri is adored in Korea....they keep fooling us in the western hemisphere. Remember a few years ago at Se Ri's own event she had no logo on her hat.....Mannika and Lorena have long been retired and they still are well sponsored...heck even ONE WIN Gulbis is still well endorsed. I bet when the LOVELY HYP retires at the Hana in the future.....45,000 fan will show up. And 95,000 fanboys will show up once Dumbo hangs up her clubs. Except for Morgan..where were all the white faced Mericans at Se Ri's ceremony....at least some pasty faced foreigners like Brooke and Aza showed their face to pay their respect to the Queen. I'm glad to see a HUGE poster of Arnold on the glass grandstand.

I created a separate thread for Se Ri's retirement. It's kind of big news! There is a video of the ceremony in that thread (I think it's complete). Se Ri Pak Retirement Thread

Terminator is out of it and IGC is doomed as well. Frauds BTW....Dumbo is a very sincere young lady....when she hugged Lydia for a long time...it was sincere. In Gee also hugged Se Ri twice for a very long time...she was balling her eyes out. Dumbo is PURE CLASS. Luv Dumbo!

In Gee missed five greens but still needed 31 putts; putting has been holding her back since Japan. She missed many short putts to the left.
Ball striking was great yesterday; unluckily, she missed landing spots by a few yards four to five times.
She has shot 4 straight rounds par or worse; a bit concerning. However, with her great ball striking, no reasons she can't shot a low round immediately.

I don't think it is a major yet, but Whan will make it a major once he gets enough money.
The South Koreans are under extraordinary pressure to win this thing. It has been played at Sky 72 the last 8 years and the Koreans have only won 4 times.
It is interesting that Dr. Won Park is the commentator. Remember his quotation about the Korean players:
"They typically turn pro by the age of 18 and are expected to win or suffer great shame and guilt. It helps that we have a national superstar in Se Ri Pak for the kids to look up to.”
If a Korean doesn't win this year for Se Ri, it will be an absolute national disgrace. Fake Koreans don't count.

Is this event basically a major? Not even for the Asian stops. Singapore usually has the strongest field. Not to mention the Canadian Open.
