Considering the number of familiar names in this one, I thought it was worth starting a thread...they tee off Thursday. Practice/Pro-Am pix: Inky Maria V. Gal and Masson Mozo Dame Laura

Phil I can't remember where you posted a pic of Stupples with a LPGA bag. I started not care for Stupples when she went public (Twitter) .......moaning and whining when Wilson dropped her in favor of Maria V....IMO....classless.

The Stupples pic is under your 'Restructure the LPGA' thread. I vaguely recall the issue of Stupples losing her bag sponsorhip, but not the connection to Maria V. MV still had a Ping bag for at least a couple of years after Stupples started using the LPGA bag.

I didn't realize Katie was in this one, too...shot a 66. Inky's comments from an LET article: Like Burnett, Kim is making her first visit to Germany for the Ladies European Tour’s showcase event and the 28-year-old from Seoul, who won the event two years ago at the Buckinghamshire Golf Club in England, is enjoying the experience. She said: “I wanted to defend my title but due to the travel schedule, I was not able to do it. It was right before the US Women’s Open and the time change was difficult. This worked out perfect right before Evian and I’ve never been to Germany. I’m quite surprised how Sandra (Gal) is normal. Sandra is quite tall in the States but everyone is tall here. It’s fun.”
The five-time tournament winner, who has two titles on the LET and three on the LPGA, added: “I’d love to go and check out the city. The language is so different. I’ve never heard German before so it’s all sound to me. I just learned a few words like ‘thank you’, ‘you’re welcome.’”
On her opening 67, which included a bogey and six birdies, including four in a row from the third, she commented: “I had a good day. I hit a lot of fairways and greens and the same thing on the front and back nine: I was hitting close but I was able to make some putts on the back nine. There are some tough holes out there like two is a tough par three. I managed those well and birdied when I had a short iron in my hand.”
******** I'm a little surprised that Sophia Popov is here, but I guess she couldn't pass up playing in Germany. However, she's 12th on the Symetra money list and they are playing this week in Kansas. She must be confident that she can get into the top-10 if she plays the last four Symetra events this season...with her ability, that's a good bet.

Great to see Inky up near the top! If she needs any German language tips, I'd be happy to oblige. (my mom is German and I can speak it more or less, aber jetzt nur ein bischen... (trans: but nowadays just a little))

No surprise Inky is playing in Germany...she loves culture and travelling.....just like everyone except for the Yanks. I don't get it......the Yanks go on the Asia swing....rather than take a week off.....go to the next event a week ahead of time and do some sightseeing....all they wanna do is go home to Orlando or Texas....WTF......why not see some stuff in Korea, China, Taiwan or Japan.

I.K. Kim is the only player that deserves a Nabisco victory more than Se Ri. A victory here will jump start her year. She is a real pro and has a keen sense of humor.

IK is also the most generous player I can think of. I always root for her to do well!

Mozo is going nuts today, -7 thru 15 holes...six birdies, one eagle, and one bogey, -5 overall. I assume a victory here will get her into the Evian next week. Nice comeback by Gal, 74-68.

I'm pretty sure Argonne is scrambling right now to get Beth Allen in his WRX Fashion Thread. Luv your sarcasm...that's a terrible pic of Beth....the outfit makes her look so frumpy....her skort looks like a potato sack.

SMOKESHOW...Belen should have done this last week...made the cut and shoot low to gain enough money to climb into top 100 in earnings for the year...but unfortunately failed. Ya I hope a win gets her into the Evian.
