Cosmetic I guess, but if so. It also help them to see better. I don't believe it enabled them to get more sponsors. It's no different from wearing makeup, how they dress "ect. He seemed to go to a lot of trouble to make a point that means absolutely nothing. Oh, so that's why so many of us wear glasses! I didn't realize it was because we have to see out of tiny slits. I thought it was because we spent so much time studying math! Thank you for enlightening me.

I know Alison only successfully went through Q school in Dec 2014....but you'd think IMG already had their claws into her. She was/is likely the most sought after Am ready to turn pro....great Am career and looks too...she's a SMOKESHOW. As per this vid....I can't believe GIMMEE went sponsorless in 2015...IMG dropped the ball. Or was it Tina who monopolized all of IMG resources in 2015.

I think a much bigger issue is at stake here. If cosmetic eye surgery has a side effect of enhancing the vision, it is essential that we strip those titles which were won by surgery recipients, Lance Armstrong style, in order to bring integrity back to the sport.
Notable LPGA winners includes but certainly not limited to
1, Inbee Park 2, Lydia Ko (all her "post glasses" title ) 3, Hee Young Park (serious offender) 4, Ha Na Jang 5, Sei Young Kim 6, Jiyai Shin ( We need an arbitration court for Jiyai because she won most of her titles with her OEM face)
Edit: Natalie Gulbis is notably absent on the list because we are only concerning eye surgery, not other type of enhancements.

As usual, enjoyed great insight by both Minimalist and Tom Abbott. They make this site so much better.
If Golf Channel is reading; please recognize their immense talent and seize it.
OK, TGC already gets one of the two.

What about if they got Lasik? I know Se Ri got Lasik sometime around the 2001 season.
The eyelid thing is something I, as a non-Asian, don't understand at all. Until I had it pointed out to me by an Asian friend, I swore I never would have noticed the difference. But apparently it's a big deal in Asia.

But I am going to go ahead and thank you for enjoying my post.

That ties him with Tiger who has 20 also, for now, 14 pro, 3 US Ams and 3 Jr. US Ams.

Until I had it pointed out to me by an Asian friend, I swore I never would have noticed the difference. But apparently it's a big deal in Asia. Over the last two hundred years or so, Western culture has become the dominant culture through colonialism, imperialism, economic imperialism, neocolonialism, and mass media. Non-Western cultures were subjugated and/or subjected to Western influences. It is why Black girls prefer playing with white dolls in social experiments or why Black women straighten their hair or why Anime characters have wide, round eyes or why Asian women have eyelid surgery. Whether consciously or subconsciously, many non-Whites probably feel inferior and having straight hair or round eyes is a way either to feel better about themselves or meet Western expectations of beauty.

I understand the reasoning behind the eyelid thing; I just don't think it makes them look very Western to be honest. And in fact some Asian people have that eyelid fold naturally, so what the others are really doing is making themselves look more like those Asians.

He said it helps him to see better, that's why I mentioned it. He is over fifty married with two lovely daughters. So I guess he didn't feel inferior. What an asinine statement.

Sigh.... I think you are confusing surgical procedures. Ptosis (Droopy eyelid) surgery ≠ LASIK ≠ Asian eyelid surgery Your White golfing buddy most likely had ptosis, in which he had issues with the muscles that lift the eyelid. Some people with ptosis have to tilt their head back to see under their eyelids or lift their eyebrows to raise their eyelids to see better. LASIK is a medical procedure that reshapes the cornea to provide better vision. Asian eyelid surgery is a purely cosmetic surgery. Many Asians are born with eyelids that do not have a crease or fold, therefore the eyelids cover more of the eyeball and gives the appearance of "sleepy" or "squinty" eyes. The surgery creates a fold/crease in the eyelids to give the appearance of "rounder" eyes, which also look more Western.

I need droopy butt surgery. Like so many old white men, I've suffered in silence-- until now.
