Look, there are still aces out there like world #1 Lydia Ko, so I want to be cautious. And also, in time I think In Gee Chun might be the best of them all. Dumbo has only one LPGA/USGA win....the USWO....until she has 50 LPGA wins and 8 majors.....any 'best' comment should wait....and this is years away. You got to get with the program. Dumbo will be the GOAT. Agree, the psyche of a bomber can be fragile. Ariya is on a hot streak right now. We have yet to see someone who can be consistently great without confidence in hitting driver.

Is that a mental hurdle for Ariya? Is she...afraid...to hit her driver? Clearly, she seems to be doing fine without it right now, but are there some courses where she should put the driver in her bag ...or does she benefit from playing courses set up for LPGA players...I don't mean that as an insult to the women...what I mean is that since the majority of LPGA players are shorter than her, even when they hit driver, it might never be necessary for her to take any chances with her big stick. Yup...Ariya has no confidence to hit a driver...which is so unbelievable. The sweet spot on a 460 cc head is huge......my driver is the strongest part of my game....IMO....460 or 430 cc drivers nowadays are so easy to hit....and even more so now that one can change loft/lie and shafts so easily with adaptors. The ball is teed up...so it's rare to hit a fat shot and with such a big sweet spot .........shots hit off the heel or toe often don't lose huge distance. And I'm playing with a Jetspeed that I bought used on-line for $80...never mind a driver that is custom fitted with a premium shaft....I can only imagine how much more confidence I'd have if I had a fitted $800 driver. Technology in ball and clubs have allowed me as an old guy in his 50's and with paralysis in my right leg due to a skiing accident the abilty to hit it just as far as in my 20's when I was much stronger and flexible. Look at all the old farts on the Champions Tour who can still bomb it. Ariya has so much available to her....I don't understand why she doesn't play a 12 or 13* driver cut down to approx 43"....she's be destroying it...they can tip and customize a premium shaft to get it right. If she gained 10-15 more yards with this driver...she'd have one less club to attack the pins. Look at the confidence Lexi has hitting driver....but her brain is fried....she can't putt. I think Ariya played with only 13 clubs in her bag at the Volvik. Distance will always be an advantage to any golfer may or female. The LPGA's rough is generally minimal.....so even if a strong player hits into it...they can chew their ball out. Most PGA and LPGA courses are bomb and gouge...they seldom play courses with 2 ft high fescue or really thick woods..... making 3 off the tee frequent.

I would like to add one thought about Yani and Ariya comparison. I noticed that Ariya is willing to hit iron, rescue or three wood off the tee, instead of driver. I don't recall Yani doing that too often. Even though her driver right now is the weakest part of her game. What I meant was maybe Yani could maybe score better if she followed Ariya strategy, by hitting irons, or rescue clubs off the tee. Instead of pulling out her driver, which is really hurting her score now. Anyway until she can learn to keep her drive in play.

I've personally always admired Gary Gilchrist's approach to coaching...as opposed to some other famous coach whom I will not name. EDIT: OK, it's not right to hint around a name and not say to whom I am referring. So I'll just say I was never a fan of Se Ri Pak and Michelle Wie going to David Leadbetter. Sorry, I know his reputation is enormous and I'm nobody. Just my opinion.
