Coming into this year, a big concern about In Gee is that she won't be a fresh face young superstar and fade into just another Korean golfer if she doesn't seize the opportunities and win early. Unfortunately, that scenario is being playing out.
In Gee can still rescue it by winning this week and defending her USWO title. Short of that, she can look forward to a career popularity similar to that of So Yeon Ryu.

I asked on Twitter and got confirmation that Seattle home girl Stephanie Wei will be on site covering this event. Perhaps His Happiness should flag her down and talk shop.Kevin I saw and chatted with Steph at the 2010 USSO at Sahalee. She got a lot of flack over her suspension by the PGA tour over her use of Periscope....supposedly she was warned about some other infractions too. She also got dumped on by some over her other blog about being a daddy's girl and wannabe NYC socialite. I use to glance at her blog when she 1st started and had some vid's with Paige M and some other LPGA pros but haven't read it for quite some time.

That's quick, both Ha Na and In Gee have been relegated to no name pairings. They will tee off on the tenth tee the same time Inbee tees off on the first tee. Yes....there are some good groups teeing off at 1 on Thurs afternoon...but I think it's Winbee that might get the snub....considering she might WD after rd 1. Dumbo, The Hulk and Mel tee off at 140pm on 10 and with likely more TV towers set up on the back 9 and GC coverage starting at 130pm PST....we might see this group more. Ko, Lexi and Lewis (KPMG) are teeing off on 10 at 140pm on Fri. I didn't walk the entire course in 2010.....I think I missed 11-17 holes....I hung around holes on the front 9, the practice green and driving range....there was a fog delay in the morning. I was there from 10am-8pm but don't remember much....except for Tom Watson pushing a spectator out of the way for no reason and Couples not willing to come over to sign some autographs for a few kids.

That is the reason to go to a tournament. You found out that Couples and Watson are a couple of phonies. I wonder if Couples tried to beg his way into playing KPMG because he is from Seattle.

Ya, we already knew T Watson & Couples were aloof....but attending events you see it 1st hand. Trevino use to be my fav golfer as a kid....but I've read too many stories that he can be a dbag outside the ropes.....likely the Merry Mex attended Creamer and Wie's acting classes...lol. Are you going to the USWO?

She's 3rd in scoring average. 1) Ha Na Jang 69.40 2) Lydia 69.47 3) In Gee 69.84

Are you going to the USWO? I saw a lady at a tournament once--it was obviously her first tournament. Trevino was walking to the 10th tee and this lady started to take a picture. He could have just said, no cameras are allowed, but he went off on her. I'm sure it was her last tournament after that. I want to go to the Open but it will be a last second thing. It doesn't look fan friendly and instead is the made for tv event that the USGA now seems to favor. I envy you having the chance to see the Chun-Jang group, although I don't think it will be too dramatic.

A win or two would definitely help her cause, but for now she's doing as well marketing-wise as they are going to allow a Korean who isn't dominating the scene to do. (Yeah, it's a sad thing that a Korean, no matter how awesome, just won't get the same media coverage as a non-Korean without achieving 50% more than the Westerner, but that's the way it seems to be).

I think if there are 12 featured players, 3 will be Korean on Thursday and Friday as long as the LPGA is selling broadcast rights in Korea. That's just my guess. The trick is to be in the top 3. Right now it's In Gee (and Inbee when she plays) and a rotation of the rest.

I'm a little surprised there hasn't been much talk of Se Ri. She did win the Burger King LPGA three times. I guess I'll know I've lived a long life, if I can survive long enough to see the tournament change its name another two or three times.

TGC will broadcast from Sahalee on both Tuesday and Wednesday at 5:00 PM EDT. Most likely, they're press conferences for key players.
Inbee will be there, she of the HOF fame and 3-time defending champion. Will So Yeon, Sei Young or Ha Na be there? How about In Gee, is her English up to speed?
