Amateur Hye Jin Choi is T-17th at -1. When In Gee won this event last year, she was, at 20 years old, the youngest to ever win here. Choi is 16 going on 17 (cue the Sound of Music soundtrack) and still has a shot. Keep watching!

Another 4 AM EST wake-up buzzer for Round 3 on SBS Golf...better turn in at 10 PM. A few early starters: Megumi Kido, Momoko Ueda, and Esther Lee Babe Liu, who I think is Volvik's first JLPGA staffer, and Junko Omote

Ha ha, I got up two hours early by mistake...forgot that it would be on at 6 AM. Unless Lexi is forced to hit a lot of chip shots tomorrow, this thing is over. RANK PLAYER SCORE TODAY 1R 2R 3R 4R TOTAL 1 Lexi Thompson -13 -7 70 68 65 203 2T Ayaka Watanabe -8 -2 69 69 70 208 2T Bo-Mee Lee -8 -2 71 67 70 208 4T Yumiko Yoshida -5 -3 73 69 69 211 4T Soo-Yun Kang -5 -1 73 67 71 211 4T Saiki Fujita -5 0 69 70 72 211 4T Akane Iijima -5 +1 72 66 73 211 8T Ha-Neul Kim -4 -4 75 69 68 212 8T Hee-Kyung Bae -4 -1 71 70 71 212 8T Erika Kikuchi -4 -1 69 72 71 212 11T Rie Tsuji -3 -2 72 71 70 213 11T Jiyai Shin -3 -1 72 70 71 213 11T Kana Mikashima -3 +1 68 72 73 213 14T Sung Hyun Park -2 +1 70 71 73 214 14T Phoebe Yao -2 +5 68 69 77 214 The broadcast showed only the last four or five holes...if Lexi's drives miss the fairway, it's not by a lot, and I saw no bad putts. A Japanese article earlier in the week says her driver swing speed is 47 meters per second (about 105 MPH). Bo Mee was not thrilled by the shots she hit at the end, but she's still playing super...her scoring average this year is even lower than last year! Ayaka Watanabe made some great recovery shots...three birdies in last four holes. Sky Kim and Soo Yun Kang

Unless Lexi is forced to hit a lot of chip shots tomorrow, this thing is over. Nice try Smile Candy fanboy. Your reverse karma is so obvious. You know they always say how hard it is to follow up a low rd with another low rd....and Lexi can jerk putt with the sledge hammer at any time...especially if the pressure is on. Unless I wake up at 3am PST....I'm gonna miss this.

IIRC, In Gee had the same size of lead going into the final round last year. She shot over par on Sunday and it still didn't make much difference. So, I'm figuring this is in Thompson's pocket unless she starts seriously missing putts; and she has a tendency to either be all bad or all OK with her putter in a given week.
Thompson seems to play better at times in Asia than in America; she won in Korea and Thailand recently. I wonder if it's easier mentally for her to play the villain than the one everyone is hoping wins (like happens in the US)?

Asian fanboys luv blondes......I'm sure Lexi is pretty popular in Asia...remember all the fawning over The Pink Diva when she arrived in Taiwan a few years ago and all the Japanese fanfare too.

can you post your link and time for the last round? had trouble finding the saturday round. SBS Golf has it, although it's not live and the broadcasters are in a studio in Korea: www.kuhu.tv/node/67The first showing of the final round will be Sunday, May 8 at 7:00 - 8:30 PM (Korea time). If that doesn't work for you, here are the next two replays: Monday, May 9: 1:30 - 3:00 AM 2:30 - 4:00 PM
