All the big guns plus Chie Arimura will show up for this one, which starts Friday. The TV coverage will be extensive...morning play one station and afternoon play on others...really confusing. I don't know if the mov3.co site channels will carry any of it.

It's a shame it's not part of a basic cable package. I'd get a television again. I don't have much luck on the computer at work.

Looking ahead, the JLPGA announced a few invitees to the Salonpas Cup fake major next month:
Lexi Thompsen Sung Hyun Park Mika Miyazato Hye Jin Choi(A)
No comments about the defending champ Dumbo, so I assume she'll be playing the Yokohama Tire in Alabama that week.

Unless they are willing to pay Lexi a $200,000+ appearance fee...she won't skip Prattville...she won her 1st LPGA event there at the local Waffle House luvs her.

She'll be in there, I don't see why they would mention her appearance if that was not the case! 200k hmmm not sure if she is worth that much?

Yikes, CNN is reporting an overnight earthquake (6.2), which occurred on the same island as the tournament! The JLPGA facebook page posted this message three hours ago (BING translated): LPGA Secretariat is the most recent information. Players have stayed on the course and near the airport in the aftermath of the earthquake that occurred in, officials are waiting for the aftershocks and take refuge in the hotel on the ground floor and room situation. Now before we collect information staff. Aftershocks have continued, currently included in the damage information such as injury to tournament officials.Kumamoto Airport CC is about 8-10 miles SE of the quake epicenter.

Two different translation of a message on the JLPGA website:
And considering the earthquake occurred at 14, (Thursday) night "KKT Cup bantering ladys open ' tournament first day 4/15 (Friday) planned events, decided to abort and in consultation with the organiser.
April 15, had planned to (gold) of "KKT Cup Banterin Ladies Open" tournament the first day competition, taking into account the impact of the earthquake that occurred on 14 days (Thursday) night, on top of the tournament organizers and consultation in decided to canceled.
I don't know if this means they cancelled the whole event or just Friday's round. If they're thinking of rescheduling the event, they have only one open week (June 27 thru July 3).

The quake hit at 9:26 PM local time Thursday.
A more extensive message on a Japanese golf site clarifies the situation: Friday is cancelled; Saturday is TBD. Obviously, they'll look over the golf course (the clubhouse has broken water pipes).

One would assume that the volunteers and spectators would have more urgent issues this weekend versus going to this tournament. Hard to see how they can play this weekend...they should try to reschedule. They confirmed that all 108 players are unharmed. The clubhouse got whacked...broken water pipes and soggy ceiling. The kitchen is a mess, too.

No surprise, they cancelled the tournament...no decisions were announced on rescheduling. Some homecoming for Kumamoto-born Chie Arimura.
