As usual, I'm rooting for the Kelly Girls to make a move and get into one of the final groups on Sunday. No, not that kind of Kelly Girl, this kind: Hwaiting!

Round 3
My goodness, Jung Min Lee is having the round of her life. She surged up to 7 under for the day to catch Bang, made a birdie to move ahead, and just now made an ACE to move three up and ten under for the day.
To be honest, the leaderboard went from really interesting to fairly dull in one day. Essentially there are three people in contention: a very old veteran, a woman who has never won, and Bang. The next half dozen aren't that scintillating, either. Oh well, you can't win them all.
Still hoping Ina and Min Byeol can make noise tomorrow and finish strong. Good luck to Bang getting her first Major. Hwaiting!

Umm, Jung Min Lee is the same age as JTibs ... she's one year older than MHL. I can't claim to watch every shot of every KLPGAer, but is it possible that she is still the best fairway wood player on her dopey tour?
JML is #213 on Rolex ... if she wins (which I want), she'll vault up about 100 spots ... and with luck this will kick off a hot streak that will get her to #75 in a month, so I can follow her for a second time at Lancaster.

Woo-hoo, I saw the ace LIVE. Here it is:

Shin Sil Bang also played really well even with a couple of par misses. It was great to see Min Ji Park play like she is ready to contend again. Mighty Mite Seung Yeon Lee tied for ninth is still playing good.

The reason I'm not rooting for Jung Min is that she always has one or two great events a year and is persona non grata the rest of the time. Personally I prefer players who are contending a lot to win the big events. No offense, she seems perfectly nice, but I'm not seeing her making a serious run up the world rankings if she wins here. She's probably going to return to the middle of the pack soon after this week like she always does after a win. And 30+ is ancient on the KLPGA, much more so than the LPGA. When it's your day, it's your day. She shot 10 under, made an ace, took the lead in a Major, and won a Benz!! https://www.instagram.com/p/C6Qe-HaLZWT

I remember when Jung Min Lee lead In Gee Chun I think it was Player of the Year before fading late. She also played good when she played in the USA, but that old nemesis that hurt players putting, hurt her. She also has won and is by far not a journeyman. So she's not a glamor girl and I hope she can get the win.

Min Ji Park is back. She has apparently been struggling with "trigeminal Neuralgia", a condition which causes intensely painful headaches. More details in this article
Ugh, I couldn't read much more after the first paragraph:
Obviously, her treatment is working ... she looked good and played great in Round Three. She is exempt for the 2024 USWO ... will she go for it?

Good Lord, that sounds terrible. From just the first paragraph: Poor Min Ji. I hope they have it under control now. I read another article where she said she came close to retiring from golf because of it.

Shin Sil Bang has had a fantastic week: three rounds in the sixties, and her scores were either second or third best every day. Despite that, she isn't in the lead and might actually lose. Well, I hope if she does lose she realizes that she is on the right track, because stats like she's had are going to give her wins more often than not.

I got a couple pictures of Lee Yewon yesterday from fans following her around the course. Couple short video clips too. 😁
I think she is making fewer bogeys this April than last April. She isn't getting the putts to drop here and there. She could explode at any moment with a string of birdies.

Per Google maps, they're about 20 miles north of downtown Seoul. ******** The broadcast supplied a huge dosage of Hottie Heo ... who has two birdies in her first four holes. .... and you can replay her shots on the KLPGA online scoreboard. ******** They showed Jung Min Lee on the practice green ... sort of a navy top/black pants outfit ... and they flashed a graphic saying she has "zero" points. What type of "points?" Her KLPGA profile says she has 52 KLPGA Points in 2024, good for 12th place. She tees off in 27 minutes to ruin a kid's dream.

Ye Sung Jun isn't just hot she is sizzling with twenty-nine on the front nine. Jung Min Lee also has a good start at minus three through five holes. Birdies and pitch ins all over the place

WTH, Ye Seong Jeon has seven birdies in her first nine holes ... and is wearing Malbon!
Jung Min Lee figured it out also ... three birdies in her first four holes.
I'm going to bed now, will go into blackout mode and watch the edited replay later ...
