Round 2 Tough day today, with many of the four Sisters who had been up near the top struggling. Su Ji and A Lim fell to -1 with a poor 74. Hyo Joo and In Gee had so-so rounds, but still made the cut easily, although they are probably out of it. Jiyai Shin really struggled, as did Min Ji, but they also made the cut. So Mi just seems to be spent, so shooting an 83 and finishing last amongst the Sisters is not surprising I guess. I hope she maintains her intention to move to the States next year; she still has a lot of potential to unlock. Jin Young looked like she was going to struggle, making bogey-bogey right out of the gate. But she recovered and made three birdies on the back nine to crawl to 2 under. At five back, she's still very much in this, but she needs to release the kraken at last and show us what this amazing #1 golfer can do. I'm not expecting it, but I sure hope it happens, and with her talent, it oughtta sooner or later! The only other Korean in a great position is Hae Ran. She, too, struggled at times, but still ended up even for the day, three back going into the weekend. She has the talent to win, but does she have the confidence? Stay tuned! Sisters hwaiting!

I'm hoping to stay awake till 2:30 am EDT (UTC/GMT -4:00) when live coverage of round 3 begins. I'm a night owl so that is likely to happen. But I'll fall asleep after a while.

The best swing by far is top four. It's an unusual situation when coolest girl is in the running.

The Sisters aren't going to be in contention this year. Ah well, best of luck for top tens!
Jin Young definitely is not 100%. That's some nasty tape she has on.

MHL got out of the basement and might break par for the day ... has three holes left and two are par-fives.

On Friday, Reto was in the woods ... from the TV camera behind her, you could see a photographer aiming back to her from the intended flight path ... this must be the result:
EVIAN-LES-BAINS, FRANCE - JULY 28: Paula Reto of South Africa plays her shot out of the rough on the 13th hole during the Second Round of the Amundi Evian Championship at Evian Resort Golf Club on July 28, 2023 in Evian-les-Bains, France. (Photo by Stuart Franklin/Getty Images)

All the ams are out on the street, but Baba-chan leaves with the memory of an ace at #16 on Friday ... could not find a video of it.

The first day of the weekend didn't turn out that good, except for A Lim Kim and Hyo Joo Kim. They still have one more day to move up the Leaderboard. Best wishes for success to A Lim and Hyo Joo on Sunday ("I'm picking Kim, there's two of them!") I also support Lilia ("I love you, Lilia Vu") and Angel.
Best wishes to all the golfers...

Looks like they made the course scorable today; lots of under par scores.
In Gee's in with a 68, Amy and Min Ji a 66.
Best of luck to Su Ji, A Lim and Hyo Joo!

Anyone watching? This thing has been over since Friday night ... just hoping there is enough bad golf to keep Su Ji in the top-10.
... and now a stroll down memory lane ...
That's the best I could find from 2014 ... I guess "the tradition" hadn't started yet.

Congratulation to Celine Boutier for a great win
Great round by Min Ji Park, clean score card minus five to move up the Leaderboard by a lot.
Kudos to A Lim top three tie and Su Ji Kim top nine tie. I believe Su Ji Kim top ten gets her into the AIG Womens Open. I wonder if she will play, she is not in the KLPGA Tournament this week

Congratulation to Celine Boutier for a great win Great round by Min Ji Park, clean score card minus five to move up the Leaderboard by a lot. Kudos to A Lim top three tie and Su Ji Kim top nine tie. Yes, congrats to Boutier on winning her first major. Even better in front of a home gallery... It was a good weekend for everyone named Celine (Borge finished T3 at minus-7) "I'm picking Kim" was a good idea this week, Su Ji finished in a tie with ROY Thitikul, new kid in town Zhang, and Nelly. I didn't hear anything about Su Ji on the broadcast of course... Speaking of Atthaya, just as I commented after Friday, never count out the Thai golfers. Patty T was near the top of the leaderboard after round two, then she came completely unplugged Saturday and Sunday to finish T48. But Thitikul shot all the way up to T9 while Patty was not even in the top four of her countrywomen. Both Jutanugarn sisters and Meechai also passed her... You gotta feel for Paula Reto. The first round leader ended up third from last... Scotland awaits, Fur-oo is defending champ...

The Money Shot I was hoping that if anyone could tell those old horndogs to F off, it would be a Frenchwoman. Alas, not to be.

No telling how many more Tournaments Minjee Lee could have won if she putted average. She missed three greens today scored four over par because of thirty eight putts. However she can go on streaks when she makes everything.

Celine2 is a woman of few words. Not only -- as she previously revealed -- does she want her caddy to "just carry the bag," but in this 90 second interview she reveals that she wants her playing partners to just keep their mouths shut.
Q: "Was there any advice you heard from other players?"
A: "Not really. I didn't talk to anyone."
