This takes place Jan. 17 thru 19 at Orient Golf & CC in Taoyuan City, Taiwan. With Hitachi's involvement and a purse of NT$10,000,000 (about $332K USD), they'll have one of the better fields for this tour ... includes: Parinda Phokan (defending champ), Pei Ying Tsai, Babe Liu, Jessica Peng, Min Lee, SC Cheng, Supamas Sangchan, Doris Chen, Kyoka Matsumori, Teresa Lu, Phoebe Yao, Mamiko Higa, Eri Okayama, Saki Asai, Miki Sakai and You Sang Hou (71.33 avg. during three fall events of 2019-20 U of Arizona season as a junior). The total field will be 108 with a cut at top-60 plus ties. There are also seven unfilled sponsor invites ... the better-known candidates might include Candie Kung, Wei Ling Hsu, Vivian Hou (70.33 avg. during five fall events of 2019-20 U of Arizona season as a freshman) and Yani Tseng. BTW, did you know Yani bought Annika's old house?

All the open invite spots have been filled and Vivian (Yu-Chiang) Hou is the only notable player among them.
One other player worth mentioning is Tzu-Chi Lin, age 29, who won last month in Taiwan, her 8th pro win. She wants to give the LPGA a shot by returning to the Symetra Tour in 2020, which she played sporadically going back to 2009 ($76K in career earnings). She finished T-74 at the 2019 Taiwan Swinging Skirts.

Searched around for postings on this event and came across an obscure Japanese pro, Hikaru Teranishi, age 19, plays the Asian scrub tours I assume (has no profile on the JLPGA website).
Departed Japan ...
... and arrived safely.

I skimmed through the replay on YouTube. It was 14C (about 57F), but many players wore ski caps and earmuffs. I was wondering when one of the JLPGAers was finally going to assert herself here in the minor minor leagues and the best one did so.

Yu-Chiang Hou (A) during first round ... forget about promoting U. of Arizona, she's in Asia trying to make friends with CTBC bank (cap) and the Descente group (sweater). In round two, she wore a Hilfiger sweater. I'm glad she made the final group for round three ... curious to see how good she really is.

You might be hearing more about this Taiwanese Namdalla, who drove the green at the par-4 15th (306 yards) on Sunday. She won last year on Korea's Dream tour and will be a regular on Korea's big tour in 2020.
