The official announcement:
The biggest news (which we already knew) was the replacement of Thornberry Creek and Indy Women Tech with two new events in Florida. I dunno, for whatever reasons, this tour has no staying power in the Sunshine State, especially in the last 15+ years ... the Ginn events, the Stanford Intl pro-am, Coates, all three-and-out or less. They got mixed up with some questionable characters in those defunct tourneys ... my gosh, don't they have any beloved supermarket chains down there that have been around for decades?! CME should last forever in FLA, only because that's the year-end party at HQ.
I'm interested to see how the Blue Bay course in China will play in the spring ... the average four-round winning score when it was played in the fall of 2015 thru 2018 was only -8.
ShopRite/Acer is back in its traditional Memorial week time slot ... expect a lot of strangers coming to the Seaview with the USWO scheduled the following week.
Back to Florida ... do you really think The New Ko is going to break her winter camp routine and play once or twice there in January? Heck no.
I don't care if the Vic Open is chump change ... MHL has to be there.
The CP Women's Open is running about a week later than usual ... it may conflict with the Hanwha, unless the KLPGA decides to move that event to the following week.
Fortunately, Lexi will not be able to hire a pathetic caddie to bus the tour's golf bags from Evian to Tokyo.
