Judy always speaks a little differently when she's on the network. Her little speech at the end, including the robot mention, were clearly aimed at refuting the stereotypes/misconceptions of the casual fan who stumbled across the tournament on NBC while flipping channels.
Good for her. It was a great day for women's golf.

I mean, unless these are people who literally have never seen Jin Young play (in which case, why even talk about those people?), I don't see 'robot' at all with her. There are some players (not just Koreans) who are very unemotional and dull, but not her. And she's said this several times this year. It's like if I would start repeating over and over, 'people say that Sung Hyun Park is a hopeless party animal, but it's really not true'. Of course it isn't true, and who would say that, anyways?

Clutch birdie putt by Sei Young to clinch the victory! She was play a little iffy today but not as much as her playing partners Nelly Korda and Caroline Masson. It's hard to believe this is her 10th win of her LPGA career already. She seems to have the staying power to make it a long career.

Good for her. It was a great day for women's golf. I like her alright but she should retire. Her energy is almost nonexistent and her perspective too elderly and grandmotherly; I believe it is chasing away viewers at this point. Actually I blame the whole GC crew except maybe Foltz. They all sound like they are being forced against their will.

I watched the Sky Sports broadcast of this event....it was basically the GC show but occasionally has their own comments and it seemed less ads. GC has way too many ads.

Everyone else might be too scared to say it but I'm not. 2019 has been a(nother) damn good year for the "Seoul sisters" of golf.

The audio on the 4th round was brutal. Amazing pressure putt by a true champion. We attended the Wed proam and I failed to recognize A Sharpe when she gave me a friendly hello lol

In keeping with Shack's policy of only mentioning women's golf when there's a rules violation, poor ratings or a scandal, there's this: www.geoffshackelford.com/homepage/2019/11/27/ratings-lpgas-season-finale-down-33According to Sports Business Journalâs weekend roundup, the CME Tour Group Championship drew a .3 and an average of 395,000 viewers on NBC, down 33% from last yearâs final round on ABC. The rating made it by far the lowest rated sports event on network TV last weekend and as Paulsen notes at Sports Media Watch âeasilyâ the lowest since its run on broadcast TV dating to 2015. Figure skating, on tape, drew double the audience.

Yes, that's typical Shack ... but numbers are numbers and facts are facts - the ratings sucked! Squeezing millions out of CME and AON for ratings like that? No wonder the LPGA board signed Whan to a "long term" contract extension last week:
In case you missed it, Stacy Lewis wrote a whoa-is-us article on the state of the LPGA vs. the PGA Tour:
Of all people to write such tripe ... she must be the most heavily sponsored American on the LPGA, the equivalent to what you'd see for the biggest stars playing the KLPGA or JLPGA.

The above screen grab says it all. If the LPGA Tour Championship gets less than half the ratings of those events, there's no hope. The white-belted 4-caps need to quit regurgitating their never-ending threads on how to increase LPGA popularity in America. It'll never happen. Unless, of course, Lexi's emotional support animal can figure out how to get her to make putts between 2 and 7 feet.

"Sung Hyun Park shot a 79 in the third round, then dropped out. Something is not right in Namdalla land. If I hear anything I'll let you know..." From what I've read from my friends on her naver.com fanpage, it's a problem with her shoulder. And so nice to see Sei Young get #10 - no big fan group, but a consistent threat, and always fun to watch. I was at the tournament Thursday, Friday and Sunday. I heard from people who watched SH Park sit down many times in the 3rd round. Didnât know if it was the heat or what but said they saw her earlier on the year in Dallas and the same thing happened with medics etc. Might not be just the shoulder. It was very hot & humid on Saturday. All in all the tournament was just ok for me. No swag with goodies from sponsors and the parachutists bringing in the money the last 3 years was gone. The prices for Oasis Lounge, Global Lounge and Parking doubled. Largest fans for Lexi and more for Brooke but overall not as many fans. Very happy for Sei Youngâs birdie victory to win and also Koâs numerous awards.

It looked and sounded like a decent turnout, especially for southern Florida, which never seems to be a hotbed of LPGA golf fandom. It's never gonna look like an Asian swing event, but from what you say it sounds like it's on a downward trajectory.
TBH I'm kinda surprising the ratings were so bad. I wouldn't have expected massive ratings, but this sounds like it was particularly poor even by LPGA standards. Perhaps the removal of the importance of the year-long race hurt them more than they thought it would? Or perhaps mid-November is just not ideal for women's golf watching?

Let's face it, this event was a referendum on Nelly. They hyped her up big time prior to the tournament and even at the end, with such article headlines as "Nelly Korda reflects on SY Kim's winning putt".
It's clear by now that Nelly is not going to save golf. She is good looking, and blonde, and social-media active though. This don't add up. I suspect she just don't have enough shits to give. Maybe "Korda" sounds too ethnic or foreign. I don't know. We (USA) are stupid after all.
