I saw a Korean language article today that claimed Sung Hyun Park's father has been in court recently dealing with fraud charges, and that his daughter had nothing to do with it. Apparently this trial had been going on since July 7th, which might explain Namdalla being distracted this season.
Park's dad is a soccer coach at a private university. If I understand this correctly, he made promises to some parents that he could help their kids get onto the national youth team or into Seoul National University in exchange for some cash, which he used to pay off personal debts. Hence the fraud! Sounds like it was around 40 million won or roughly $35,000.
There's another court date coming December 12th.

Only $35K? Did Sung Hung turn him down for a loan? At least he didn't threaten anyone ... remember SY Ryu's daddy doing that?

I smell TV series. "The Real Golf Dads of Gangnam", something like that.

Seriously, he could have probably broken Sung Hyun's piggy bank and gotten more money than that, unless he already WAS doing that and still couldn't pay off all his debts, hence the extra chiseling.

So Yeon dad trouble was about Taxes not college fraud. I don't remember any articles about him being found guilty. If anyone have that information, enlighten me.
Besides, what does So Yeon family have to do with this article.

Besides, what does So Yeon family have to do with this article. These are two cases where the fathers of famous Korean golfers did questionably legal things and their daughters had to deal with bad publicity. Ryu's dad did have to pay a bunch of money for delinquent back taxes, but I don't know if that involved a legal penalty or was just what he owed.

Fine, but what does that have to do with this topic.

Fine, but what does that have to do with this topic. I think it's legit to notice that there are two cases of top Korean golfers who had controversial fathers, both of whom had run-ins with the law and caused trouble for their famous daughters. Not sure what your objection is?
