Only a field of 96 ... a few big names will skip this one (¥80 M purse) in order to play the next week (¥200 M purse).
Bo Mee Lee will be here, currently 40th on the money list ... after this event, the top-35 will be added to the field of the LPGA Toto next month.

There are no Apocalyptic messages regarding traffic, parking or same-day ticket sales on the JLPGA website ... wonder why?
In other news, Ai Suzuki is still out with a bad left thumb and Momoko Ueda denied marriage reports in 2020 to a mystery man.
Thursday practice:
Erika Hara and Sakura Koiwai
Bo Mee Lee, Chie Arimura and Minami Katsu
The last tournament for Yuri Yoshida(a) before Stage 3 Pro Test ... looks like Bridgestone and Pearly Gates have first crack at her when she turns pro.

Kotone Hori is playing the Step-Up Tour this week. With two Tournaments left, she is forty one on the Money List. How many jump to the big tour.

This is the golf course with the false front 18th green running off into a steep trench bunker. No leader is really home free until they avoid it on their 54th hole of play. I watched the YT replay this morning and they showed past disasters at #18 by Momoko Ueda (2007) and Ritsuko Ryu (2016).

The tee times were pushed back another 30 minutes, but they should be starting in two minutes. This is one of several LIVE feeds that are running now...for how long, who knows.

Hello, Solar Lee opened with three straight birdies, now -4, woo hoo! It was on the back nine, so none of it was shown on the broadcast.

From really long distance, they showed a tiny image of Misuzu Narita making a birdie putt at #6 ... her sixth straight!!! Sakura Koiwai is in the same group and has five birdies!
******
UPDATE: They have a remote camera way up in a balcony(?) over the par-5 7th green where Narita and Koiwai racked up birdies again!
*******
Holy crap, Narita rolled in about a 30-foot birdie at the par-3 8th! Koiwai 3-putted #8.

I guess The Big Boss Man shut down that live feed I posted earlier. However, there are videos still out there with highlights of Narita tying the tour record of 8 straight holes with birdie or better.
The cut was -2 and 50 players made it.

Sunday's 1st hole LIVE feed:
I watched Solar Lee (-4) tee off. This is probably the first time she has been grouped with two 'A' listers, Erika Hara and Momoko Osato. Hara reached the 542-yard par-5 1st hole in two shots and made birdie ... Lee and Osato had pars.

The first tee gallery is noticeably thinner sans Shibuno Fever. No crowds -- just a few sparse onlookers -- beyond the tee box on either side of the fairway.
We must be the only two Solar Lee fans in the entire Western Hemisphere, if not the world. And she may lose me if she doesn't keep her card. Go Solar power!

No need to enter the JLPGA Pro Test when you can just go out there and win.

At least Ha Neul Kim final round 75 was better than her Hite Jinro 80 last week. She looks like her game is getting better, then the other sneaks back in. Still she knows that she can score, just need to do it for four rounds.
