At least MHL got out of the cellar.

Round 3 MJ looked solid once again. Good tee to green and some great putts and short game. She maintained her two shot cushion, but now there are fewer golfers who are close enough to upset her. If she can put together a solid day tomorrow she should be good. A great day would be even better! Go MJ! Amy was awesome today, and they had some nice moments from Chella. Hyo Joo and Inbee are within range of top tens as well. Sisters hwaiting!!

Delightful showing by Ms Hur at this bottom feeding frenzy. I'm sorry but what a bunch of wankers. One can only watch so much of Alex's, Yokomine's etc lousy lookin swings.

Among the most successful Seoul sisters in recent years are ahjummas: Inbee, Inkyung, Eunhee and now Mijung Hur. I think they are redefining some age stereotypes. Chella is around this age now; perhaps her best is yet to come. Amy Yang is another candidate.

Amy Olson beat Pressel by 10 shots. Well, she didn’t close well and beat her by one shot for the week. And Pressel leads in CME standings for the year. (I like Amy, but think Morgan was the right pick.)

https://www.instagram.com/p/B3Aso_OA3C1 Congratulation to Mi Jung Hur for her wire to wire win. It was always her tournament to lose after the second round. She would have had to falter, for the players behind to overtake her. Kudos to Hyo Joo Kim, minus five solo eighth place. Chella Choi could only manage an even par final round. But still a tie for ninth place is pretty good.

(I like Amy, but think Morgan was the right pick.) Amy is 71st in Sagarin rankings, Morgan is 125th. Captain’s picks are a popularity contest. US fans put their own entertainment above having the players who earned spots on the field! Captains picks should be for unusual circumstances like a great rookie or injured star. Amy Olson out earned Morgan straight up.

Round 4 Wire to wire baby! When MJ wins, she usually gets into a zone and looks like she is literally unstoppable. And this final round, and indeed much of this week, was another example of that mindset from her. Simply incredible today, start to finish. The only reason this wasn't even more of a blowout is because Colonel Koertz managed some garbage time birdies to make it slightly less decisive. A Sister in the thrall of marital bliss is an awesome thing. It sure worked for Inbee and Hee Won, and now seems to be working for MJ. I think the key might be that the hubby accompany the golfer on her rounds. The Sisters who leave hubby at home don't seem to get that improved result effect usually. Anyway, keep up the good work, MJ! Love seeing your great smile. Hwaiting!

Not everybody is up to think their way around a Pete Dye course. There were some interesting shots out there. The pitch shot to a very elevated green I saw was cool. Not sure if it was a par 3 they all missed or a par 4 they can drive to the base of the hill. Bronte skulled her flopper way past the hole.
That was the par 3 14th. The green is good 20 ft above the chipping areas.

There it is! Awesome. I’ve played 3 Pete Dye courses and loved them. He wasn’t afraid to make something unusual looking for the sake of getting in the golfers head.

Actually it was the 15th. I should know by now that the 15th, 16th, 17th, and 18th are in the infield of the speedway. The TV camera doesn't do the hole justice. It's like hitting a tee shot on to the top of a volcano.
Yeah, I love Pete Dye. I've played at least a dozen of his courses, including The Brickyard, Whistling Straits, Blackwolf Run, Kiawah Island, French Lick, TPC Sawgrass, and PGA West Stadium. He messes with your head on the target lines off the tee, and punishes you if you fail on a risk/reward shot. In Gee missed the cut because she missed the green on her 2nd shot into the par 5 2nd hole, and wound up making bogie.
