This is why the LPGA uses Point System for Player of The Year. Instead of voting on it.
From Golf Digest Brooks Koepka won the PGA Championship. Runner-up at Masters and US Open Tie 4th Open Championship Won two other Tournaments.
Rory Mcllroy two top tens in Majors and one missed cut. I am sure if the PGA had a point system. Koepka would have won easily.

There're three Player of the Year awards: Koepka has won PGA of America, which is based on points McIlroy won PGA Tour, which is voted by fellow players Golf Writers Association, which will be awarded during 2020 The Masters

That's my point. I knew that Mcllroy was voted in by the Players. I am sure if the PGA used a point system like the LPGA. The outcome would have been completely different. By the way Rory had fourteen top tens and Brooke had nine. Not a difference maker.
Doesn't make any difference to me, which one won. Just saying a point system would be fair, with no hurt feelings.

The punditry would say that it's because Masters, Open, and US Open are not technically PGA. Players and Tour Championship are.
But obviously an award that ignores three of the THREE most important events is super flawed ( sorry PGA Championship, you know you are 4th out of 4 )

It’s more like homecoming king voting. Brooks isn’t winning that vs Rory.
The question to get the answer to is who’s year players would rather have.

25 holeouts in one year? That's insane!

My only reason for comparing the voting players in or using the point system. When So Yeon Ryu and Sung Hyun Park tied for the Player Of The Year. If the players voted instead of the point system. I am sure Thompson would have won.
