Excellent big screen HD quality and great ambient sound without announcers...almost like being there. Much better than those lo-res pirate streams some other weeks.
Glad there's some top shelf golf to watch this weekend.

This a little crazy, the driving range? Never mind on a break from live stream. Shin Ae update plus five.

Great shot of Winbee saying hi and shaking Shibuno's hand on the driving range. They're spending more time covering Shibuno's pre-round practice than the actual players on course.

Just a clarification on the LIVE stream that I didn't know before. There's a break between 11 AM and Noon (Japan time) for Rounds One and Two... so we won't see Winbee and Shibuno tee off at 11:40 AM. They'll also have a similar streaming break at 10:30 AM on the weekend.
I think the tour conned the players into thinking this would be a birdiefest with talk of a 20-under score winning. I watched this sporadically and the rough looks thick and gnarly, including the grass next to the green collars. Bo Mee Lee hit the ball all over place on the first five holes and can credit her short game for keeping her in this tournament.
Chae Young Yoon tied for 1st at -3 thru 15 holes. Her portrait is posted inside every Korean medical school with the caption, "Touch this face and you'll lose your license."

The stream is back and they have Ayako Okamoto and Momoko Osato in the broadcast booth, but the sound is almost completely off...this happened last year too, the broadcaster sound was almost completely muffled. Not that it matters, how would I know what they're saying.
Sayaka Takahashi is the low score in the clubhouse at -4...scores for 93 players have been posted and 24 of them are under par.

What happened to the golf. Do they spend this much time in the booth every live stream.

Just 35 out of 132 broke par. Hinako Shibuno was one of them...that's 29 straight rounds at par or better, the new tour record.
POS PLAYER SCORE HOLE TODAY 1R 2R 3R 4R TOTAL 1T Sayaka Takahashi -4 F -4 68 68 1T In-Bee Park -4 F -4 68 68 3T Ayako Kimura -3 F -3 69 69 3T Mi-Jeong Jeon -3 F -3 69 69 3T Nasa Hataoka -3 *F -3 69 69 3T Eimi Koga -3 *F -3 69 69 3T Min-Young Lee -3 F -3 69 69 3T Haruka Morita -3 F -3 69 69 3T Sun-Ju Ahn -3 F -3 69 69 3T Akira Yamaji -3 *F -3 69 69
A rough start on the front nine...the view from the tee box at the par-3 2nd, 185 yards...that white speck is the flag, 8 paces from the front and 4 from the left.
Eimi Koga ... a future Solheim Cupper?
Winbee/Shibuno (-2)/Ueda (-1) ... the sound was muted when Winbee was interviewed; I think she spoke English with a translator ... they turned the sound ON when Shibuno was interviewed.
Nice to see Queen Shiho (+1) on the broadcast at the last two holes ... somewhere along the line, she dumped her T/M spider putter for some kind of blade putter
SS Feng (E)
Sky Kim (E)

I see what was happening. I was watching the Live stream on the JLPGA website. So when the initial feed finished they went to the booth. Did interviews and showed a few eighteen holes finishes.
Where did you see the second stream of Inbee and Hinako.

After the one-hour break, they set up a separate YouTube video for the second half of Round One. Just follow the times and YouTube postings on the online leaderboard and you can't go wrong.
It should be kicking in soon for Round Two...Winbee/Shibuno/Ueda had a 7:20 AM start at the 10th hole on Friday, so maybe we'll see a lot of them.

In other news, Simin Feng won her Pro Test (Stage One) qualifier, shooting 213, -3. Babe Liu (+1) also advanced easily. There will be three locations for Stage Two...the first one will be Sept. 24-26, the next two in October.
*************
The cabbage growing next to the green collar at #4 looks brutal...and it's raining so it'll only get worse.
The stream has not shown Winbee...but we didn't miss anything: one birdie, two bogeys and a double thru eight holes.

By the way Inbee is three over par through seven holes.

Since the broadcasters are muted, I turned up the volume to the max on the video and on my PC...how about the SOUND of someone hitting out of that wet junk? Yikes!
They showed a lot of Sky Kim early in the broadcast, currently -1. She's playing with Kana Mikashima, currently one shot back at -3.

Shibuno never leaves 'em short. But it doesn't always work out for her when she blasts them past the hole. Like today on the 5th. She should pay attention to In Bee and watch her pace.

I must have missed the first part of the broadcast because I didn't see Ha Neul. I will eventually get it right.
Sometimes slamming works and sometimes it hurt. Hinako slammed her putt past the hole on number two, three putt. Followed that with birdies. But had a hard putt lip out on five.

Shibuno is on the cut line at +2 with two holes remaining. It seems ridiculous to say she needs better advice on the course after all her success, but here's a pic from Round One...I reviewed pix from several JLPGA tournaments and it looks like Shibuno has alternated between a couple of different woman loopers. Unless you can prove otherwise, I cannot take seriously any woman caddie on an Asian tour...just bag pushers...the one exception is the lady on Rumi Yoshiba's bag - an ex-touring pro, I think.
