I guess someone had to start this thread...even if 10 of the top 23 players on Rolex Rankings represent ROK.
GC schedule:
FRI 9/13 - 1:30 AM EST
SAT 9/14 - 1:30 AM EST SUN 9/15 - 6 AM EST
This should be the USA entrance song...because if Lexi, DK, and Korda 1 & 2 play up to their capabilities, the Euros will have No Reply at All:

Since we're talking about team tournaments, I looked up the rankings for the 2020 UL Crown...pathetic lpga.com hasn't updated it since May 9. It will be played in England Aug. 27-30, 2020.
At least for today, I decided to do its job for them...if I did this right, here are the pending teams:
ROK
JY KO 1 SH PARK 2 LEE 6 4 WINBEE 8 Total 15
I can envision a lot of jockeying between spots 2 & 4 well into next year...definitely a lot of competition for that 4th spot, especially if Winbee is too arrogant tired to show up again.
*******
USA
LEXI 3 NELLY 10 SALAS 16 DK 17 Total 46
Similar story as ROK...Lexi will probably remain tops with a battle royale for spots 2 thru 4.
*******
JPN
NASA 9 SHIBUNO 13 SUZUKI 25 HIGA 49 Total 96
The first three spots look rock solid (I think Shibuno is for real)...Mamiko is no shoe-in for the 4th spot. Heck, Yuka Yasuda went up 42 spots to #172. BTW, I was checking the dates on the when the Olympics golf will be played...gold medal days will be on Aug. 2 & 9. I also noticed that they brought back softball at least for 2020 (it should never have been dropped)...hmm, maybe Shibuno can win two gold medals.
*******
ENG
LAW 26 HULL 29 HALL 37 JODI ES 82 Total 174
I don't see the first three changing. JES will probably get the 4th spot, but I don't think she is THAT good...Mel Reid at #107 mostly stinks this year. Keep an eye on Charlotte Thomas...she showed me nothing at ShopRite/Acer (but it was only one hole, a real representative sampling ) ... she's at #210 and has a knack for making money at the weaker tournaments.
*******
AUS
MINJEE 6 GREENY 20 SU OH 70 CAPT KIRK 100 Total 196
Greeny is a big upgrade over Sarah Jane Smith from 2018...Oz might not roll over and play dead as usual in 2020. I think these four are set...it's a little shocking that this golf mad country has so little depth on the world stage. Unless Karis Davidson (#167) wins a couple of tournaments in Japan, she's too far back to make it.
********
THA
ARIYA 7 MORIYA 24 PORNA 67 JASMINE 115 Total 213
The first two spots are in cement and Porna is probably safe. The 4th spot is totally up for grabs...heck, if Patty T. keeps destroying the Symetra tour, she might get to 3rd.
********
CHN
SS FENG 21 LIU 38 YAN 105 LIN 134 Total 298
I think this is the final team...Liu brought China back into this event all by herself.
*********
SWE
ANNA N 69 LINDBERG 96 SAGSTROM 101 HEDWALL 124 Total 390
Looks like Sweden will be the 8th team by default...Spain's top-4 add up to 499. Caro is having a good comeback season but the rest are in a funk...and surprisingly little pro depth for Team Svensk. I've seen Dani Holmqvist (#202) on the range at the Seaview...has tons of speed with the driver, looks super fit, works out like a maniac...and just hasn't produced...why?

Interesting numbers. Re USA team- I’m not so sure Lexi remains in #1 spot, although I would think she’d be on the team. Re Spain- Aza has had a good year (6 top 8 finishes, only 1 mc), but they have nobody else for the other 2 spots.
Maybe after Solheim Cup is done there will be updates/focus on next year’s UL Crown?

It doesn't seem that long ago since Spain won the UL Crown. They have sure fallen a long way since then. Belen Mozo tweeted that she is walking away from competitive golf. Because of a TFL tear that she suffered the beginning of 2018. She could never get it completely healed. So she will step away and be a tennis wife. She said something about her boy friend winning Wimbledon.

AUS could use Ruffels competing for a spot. She can’t really be going to USC after winning the Amateur.

My two cents about Inkster choosing Morgan Pressel and Stacy Lewis to complete the US team. I can understand her logic of wanting experience to lead and I believe Morgan fits that bill. But not Stacy because she has a lone-wolf personality. I can't see her inspiring her teammates on.

It would have been interesting deliberations. I wonder how Lexi feels about losing a doubles partner. Did she get out-voted or not???

Top Point Percentage (minimum of 20 matches) Dottie Pepper (USA) 13-5-2 = 70% Annika Sorenstam (Europe) 22-11-4 = 64.86% Paula Creamer (USA) 17-9-5 = 62.90% .................................................................................. Dottie not getting the captaincy because of the pettiness of US Solheim players and fans is an embarrassment.

Not sure it's such an outrage that Pepper hasn't been Captain. A significant part of being Captain is your ability to inspire your players and help them psychologically in general. Pepper's negative comments about the Americans are well known and would probably work against her with her team in the locker room.
Recordwise, no doubt. She was almost the face of the American Solheim team when she was a player.

She was almost the face of the American Solheim team when she was a player. Too cautious. She doesn’t have to be perfect, she still earned it. I give her some credit for turning the US team around after being an Assistant Captain with her articles about what the team and event had turned into by Colorado. If not Dottie someone else. 3 times in a row for Inkster isn’t right.

They are going with the war and austerity look this year. I think it’s a USWNT poster knockoff. It would be interesting to get to the bottom of it.
