This three-rounder started Wednesday and Weiwei Zhang is exiting this tour in style with an opening 7-under 65...leads by three shots. It's not a total pushover field as several second-tier LPGA Thais are in it, including Pannarat T., Prima T., P. Yoktuan, and PK Konkraphan.
Zhang probably won't play the CLPGA again this year as she'll be tied up preparing and playing in Japan and USA q-schools.
Asian wanderer Ye Seul Lee, shot 71.

The above site has TV coverage for Round Two...they just blew the horn to resume play after a weather delay. I don't know how long it will continue as it's past it's allotted time slot. Friday's broadcast is scheduled for Noon thru 3:30 PM (Beijing time). Weiwei Zhang just rolled in a four-footer at #13 for birdie to regain the lead at -8. PK Konkraphan shot 67 and is at -7 and Pannarat T. shot 70 and is at -5. Weiwei just hit her approach pin high at the par-4 14th...missed putt by two inches, settles for par. I just bookmarked this website in case it carries the US golf tours.
UPDATE: The broadcast abruptly cut over the men's Euro tour at 6:30 AM EST. This was just after Zhang hit her tee ball at the par-3 15th...she might have rinsed it, but I'm not sure as the camera coverage was much more static compared to GolfChannel.
UPDATE: I don't know what I saw, but the online scoreboard says Zhang birdied #15 to go to -9.

Round Two was suspended with 21 players still on the course...but none of them have any chance of winning. Weiwei Zhang (below) will start Friday with a two stroke lead. The cut line (top-50 plus ties) is currently +5...it'll be an early exit for Mini Ting Ting (finished at +6).

jumpcutWeiwei has a sensational season in China! How do you compare her to Kelly Tan or Rebecca Lee-Bentham; whom she'll face off at LPGA Q-School? Weiwei is on her way up and has the potential for a long stellar career ahead of her. KT & RLB are on the comeback trail and the odds are stacked against them. But I like comeback stories and when a longshot has a good week, it makes rooting for them all the more satisfying. That's as detailed an analysis as I can offer. As you know, I'm just a poser around here. When I see posts about club head speed and WITBs, my eyes glaze over. But an article on Lexi behaving badly? Count me in! Speaking of which, on Day One of "Rebecca vs. The Men" RLB sits at +1, 2 shots over the cutline. She can still make it into the weekend tomorrow! www.pgatour.com/canada/en_us/tournaments/mackenzie-invesments-open/leaderboard.html
