I have no plans to cover this is in detail, but the JLPGA Pro Test started last week, which will be at multiple sites in three stages. On Aug. 21-23, top-shelf ams Ayaka Furue and Yuna Nishimura set fire to Arima Royal GC (-24 and -20 respectively); 3rd place was at -9.

Somebody call the fire department and a SWAT team, Shibuno went to the hospital!
It started Monday when she played nine holes in the morning and complained about a toothache...she kept her head up when she pushed a tee into the ground, because if she tilted it down it would hurt. She left at 1 PM to see a dentist.
She returned early Tuesday AM. It was suspected she had sinusitis...she explained it to Ulala Onuki.
She practiced for only an hour before leaving for the hospital feeling feverish...her temp was about 101 F. Acute sinusitis was confirmed, but it shouldn't keep her out of the tournament.
************
Meanwhile, forgotten Sharon got in some practice on Tuesday.

Welcome to the club, Hinako. It has nothing to do with the teeth but the pain can radiate there if it's bad. Deviated septum surgery helped me tremendously. But I still have the occasional dull ache when I wake up in the morning that goes away once I get vertical and the sinuses can drain. TMI, I know.

In an interview, Shin Ae Ahn said she was not surprised about Hinako Shibuno winning the WBO. Before Shibuno had won anything, they played together in the final round of the Studio Alice event (April 14) and Sharon thought to herself, "this player is different from other players."
************
Japan can de-mobilize its National Guard now...Shibuno showed up for her Wed AM pro-am...and she's not just playing with anybody...one guy is the chairman of Nitori and another won the Nobel Prize in Medicine/Physiology in 2018.
Former iron girl Kana Nagai on Tuesday...last week was the first tournament she ever skipped... spent the week off attending and watching Ryo Ishikawa win on the JGTO in Hokkaido.
Love 'em and leave 'em...that's Mr. Shimuzu in 2019...his latest conquest is Rei Matsuda. Maybe he'll be the difference in finally pushing her over the top.

Step Up Tour 08.28~08.30 Card Ladies Kotone Hori is tied for 54 at +1 through eight. The reason I put this up is because her sister Natsuka is +9 through nine. She just don't have what it takes

in 2013 at age 21yrs Natsuka Hori won two tournaments and was no.10 on the moneylist. in 2014 she ranked no.44 on the moneylist and then her game went south real fast. i dont know the cause.
golf can be brutal at times....

Well, I learned something new. Otaru CC is just down the road from the small city of Otaru, which has a canal running through it and numerous historic buildings. It's considered a tourist destination and a bedroom community for people working in Sapporo.
I'm guessing Tuesday's photo shoot was taken outside and inside Otaru's Tomioka Catholic church.

Another JLPGA Pro Test is taking place this week at Token Tado CC in Nagoya. Yuli Seki (aka Mini Ting Ting) shot 71 (-1) and is T-4 after Round One. Someone named "Mindy min seung Kim" shot 73 and is T-16. Is this the ex-LPGAer Mindy Kim? Kim Min Seung is her real name...she turned 30 last month...her IG (mindykim75) has no hints of a touring comeback. The KLPGA roster also has a Kim Min Seung, age 33...last played the KLPGA Dream Tour in 2014.

After an Italian vacation, this is Sharon's first of three straight tournaments...she better shake up the world fast or else she's going back to JLPGA q-school for sure.
Shibuno got through her pro-am still standing, although she's not feeling 100%. Normally, she would have been a WD, but she didn't want to take off three straight weeks (not playing next week's chump change Golf 5 tournament).

I didn't know that because my focus was on Kotone Hori only. Anyway Natsuka didn't give up, she had two birdies and a bogey back nine. Kotone plus two is tied for 49th.

Mika Miyazato made a big push in Round Two with a 67 and is -4 overall. She has five top-10s this season, but is underachieving IMHO...turns 30 in October so she's not that old.
Sharon finished Friday at +2 overall...currently sits at T-54 while the cut will be top-60 plus ties.
Hinako Shibuno got by with a 71 on Thursday. It was her 25th straight round at par or better on the JLPGA, which is three short of tying a record set by Big Mama Ahn in 2013.
