Per Google mush, the above link is an interesting article on Japan's delivery service for this tour. The course for this event is at least 500 miles north of the tournament completed on Sunday. For the right price, a long line of players had their bags X-rayed at the golf course on Sunday and shipped immediately so they would arrive at the course in Hokkaido on Monday. The normal delivery time is two days, but it's being pushed up by a day since this tournament starts on Thursday. JY Shin is quoted with complimentary comments re this service, especially after having to lug around all her s*** by herself when she played in the USA. Hyo Joo Kim was also wowed by this service when she played the recent Yonex tournament...enough so that she expressed interest in joining the JLPGA. C'mon, HoJo is too young and good to be playing the minor leagues, but if it happens in her 30s, you read it here first. The vendor involved is Yamato Transport...they take care of your stuff the way a mother cat takes care of her kitten.

Wednesday prep:
Sakura Koiwai, who is 1st in Total Driving (Distance + Accuracy), and Bo Mee Lee
Sun Ju Ahn and Serena Aoki
Hee Kyeong Bae and Haruka Morita
Hinako Shibuno...a recent translated article said her daddy competed in shot put and discus while mama threw the javelin...in other words, the reign of JY Shin might be ending a lot sooner than expected.

Yuka Yasuda had to get up early for the first tee time at #1. I assume this is her last real warm-up before playing Evian & AIG. She's grouped with Ayaka Matsumori
Two more sleepyheads, Kotono Kozuma and Yuting Seki

The Step Up tour is playing concurrently this week (July 11-13)...the ECC Ladies Golf Tournament about 10 miles north of downtown Kobe. Someone posted about 7 hours & 20 minutes from Round One on Youtube...search string:
ECCレディス ゴルフトーナメント
They've got the second round (part one) cued up here to start on Thursday at 7 PM (EST) -
Part two will be at 11:30 PM (EST) -
They've already got links set up for parts one & two of round three.
Four players tied for first with 69 (-3) scores for Round One, including Pei Ying Tsai (left) and Yuna Nishimura(A). Kotone Hori (right) is tied for 5th at -2. It's a field of 108 and they're using split tees ... the top-12 players will begin round two at #1 starting at 9:20 PM (EST).

It's certainly odd that the P.A. announcer woman on the Step Up tour is announcing the players in English only ("Coming up next, Mika Nakazono, freelance player"). They're showing mostly the 1st hole tee shots and an occasional look at the driving range. Hori and Seungji Han are teeing off at 9:20 PM.
They just played back an interview of 1st round co-leader Risa Murata. She doesn't "look" Japanese .... there might be an American connection as she played four times on the Symetra Tour in 2019 (three MCs).

Never saw this in the U.S ... at 3:52:11 of the video (above) Pei Ying Tsai uses a power hose to blow the crap off the bottom of her shoes before going into the clubhouse ... which has automatic sliding glass doors ... and this is supposed to be the minor leagues of the minor leagues!
Tsai has a one-shot lead at -7 going into the final round ... she still has her Brandt Snedeker level body swing going and is too good to be playing with the scrubs ... she was T-6 or better in her last four Step Up starts.

Okay, now for the big tour ... 60 players made the cut at +2.

I've got Youtube streams running for both JLPGA events...it is pouring rain for the Nipponham, but it's perfectly clear several hundred miles south for the ECC. Yuka Yasuda is ready for rainy old England .... drove it down the middle on #1, hit it pin-high from 153 yards, and rolled in about an 8-footer for birdie.
Kana Nagai and Ai Suzuki
