With the Solheim Cup Just 2 1/2 months away, I think that it is a good time to look at what players from Team USA are a lock to be playing, and which players are fighting for the remaining spots. www.tonyslpgareport.com/

Here's a line the GIC can use to lie about the Solheim Cup:
"As of July 1, the USA has six players in the Rolex top-32 and Euros have five...throw in home field for the Euros and it should be an extremely close Solheim Cup."
NOT!!!!
Conveniently omitted from the narrative is that Team USA has four gorillas at the top of their line-up (Lexi, Korda 1 & 2, and DK) ... if their heads are screwed on straight and they play at least three matches during the first two days, the Euros can't touch them, no how, no way. Anna Nordqvist would have been on par with this bunch a couple of years ago, but I didn't even notice that she fell to #49 in the rankings. Has she played that poorly recently?
BTW, Captain for Life posted excellent observations at lpga.com regarding Kristen Gillman ... I'm guessing she'll be a captain's pick (and rightly so) ... as for the other captain's pick, who cares. She could bring her "daughter" back again to be in charge of hair ribbons and face paint and it won't matter.
The only wildcard I can think of is the golf course. Who decides the set up? If it's the Euros, maybe they'll copy what the guys did in France during the last Ryder Cup...narrow the fairways and grow in some 1970s USGA rough everywhere else.
This event is almost as a big a joke as the men's President's Cup. I'd rather watch the UL International Crown in England next year ... have they announced where it will be played in 2022?

Megan Khang is 6th in points and I'm not sure they've shown her hit a shot on TV all year.

philknjKristen's best chance is through Rolex World Ranking. She needs a win, any win; will vault her over Angel Yin and Austin Ernst and qualify via the highest ranked player that's not already qualified.

Crusty Grrr has fallen out of the top-8 in Solheim points and is only 51st on the Rolex Rankings...I assume she'll have to play her way back on to the team. On the other hand, the team set up now looks really young...Captain for Life could make her a wildcard selection as insurance in case the youngsters have a group panic attack.

Need Kerr to captain the SS Lexi. American. Longevity. Winner. I wasn't a Kerr fan for a while and a deeply regret it. Great golfer.

The article left out Brittany being low medalist at 2009 USWO qualifier at Neshanic Valley...Heather D-D told her she'd enjoy playing for the coach at U. of Virginia.
I really enjoyed that deep-dive BA did on BA...this player is a rare diversion from the usual GIC favorites. Next time I see Nichols I should ask if she takes fan's requests.

That was a good article. There are more Americans on the tour than people realize, there just isn’t the time or space to tell their story.

Watch, Creamer and Pressel will win team event next week and back door in. Watch, Creamer and Pressel won't win the team event, but will have one good day and convince Inkster that their 'experience' merits a Captain's pick. 'Can't pick a rookie for Solheim Cup'. Oh, and do you guys really think they will pick Gillman and leave Kerr out? No way. This team is such an old girls club it isn't even funny. And no way on Earth they pick Yin or Khang over any of them. It's just a good thing for the States that they will probably win even if they put Presley Cornelius on the team.

I think it's assistant captain time for Pressel and Creamer. I could see Lewis getting a pick based on the player she's been and because every star gets a captain's pick once but she's at 34.4% for points in the Solheim. It's time to shake the bag. I think they'll go with Kupcho and Fassi.

If Marina Alex and Brittany Altomare are on this team I might have to pull for the Americans.

If they want to reinvigorate this thing, it should be North America against the rest of the world. That would get both Fassi & Henderson in vs. Euros/Asia. A LOT more viewers...and isn't that the bottom line?
