Now I know why there are no ams playing on the JLPGA this week.
This is the 61st edition which runs June 25-28 at Elleair Golf Club Matsuyama ... cut after Wednesday to top-60 plus ties. No real-time TV for this ... Japan's Golf Network will have a 90-minute replay on July 14.
Mayu Wakui and Mao Saigo are tied for 1st at 64, -8. The course was set at 6508 yards.

The cut was +3 and Yuka Saso really turned it around to make it (78-67-145, +1). Mayu Wakui is in first by one shot at -11. Yuka Yasuda posted another 69 and is five shots back at T-10.
Five-minute Round Two highlight video...check out the "escalator" on one of the holes at 1:44 and 4:00...and I'm guessing someone hit the on/off switch while in use at 2:50.

Fourth Round video summary:
**********
Bizarre situation: A JGA official carelessly tried to pass the cart holding Ayaka Furue's bag with his own cart, but clipped her bag and broke the 3-wood. See the video above at 1:29 when Furue tees off at #1 ... you can see they have the bags slanted outward on a motorized cart ... I've never seen that in the USA. A sincere apology was made afterward and she was able to replace the club mid-round, but ask any elite player how hard it is to find a 3-wood they can LOVE. She finished in 5th place at -11.
